The Mumm, Perrier-Jouët champagnes and Martell Cognac (Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët) have successfully completed a first crossing aboard a TOWT TransOceanic Wind Transport sailing cargo ship from France to the United States! The impressive vessel is the largest built in modern history and the most powerful in its class, the result of a shared vision of pioneering spirit and common ecological convictions between MMPJ and TransOceanic Wind Transport. Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët now plans to make one transatlantic crossing a month and expand the fleet with the longterm ambition to make sailing cargo the primary means of transporting Champagnes and Cognacs to the United States in the long term. "As a player in the luxury world, Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët has a responsibility to set an example by innovating with regard to the environment and making new practices desirable. What was yesterday only an ambitious project for the future, carried out with TOWT, is today a reliable ecological, commercial and technological reality,” says César Giron, President of Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët. This important step is part of a global path towards carbon neutrality by 2050, throughout the entire value chain for our iconic French Champagnes and Cognac.

There are 10 million bubbles in every bottle of G.H.Mumm champagne (Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët) 🫧 Unlike still wines, champagne is fermented twice: once in open vats, and then again in bottles. During the fermentation process, a dose of ‘liqueur de tirage’ is added to the champagne bottles, bringing a tiny amount of yeast into contact with the natural sugars found in the wine. The resulting second fermentation releases carbon dioxide, and bubbles start to form gradually inside the sealed bottle in a process known as ‘prise de mousse’. The bubbles are a crucial part in spreading the wine’s aromas and act like a lift for molecules that stimulate our senses.

Every cap of TX Whiskey is originally designed in a home workshop, giving a personal touch to each bottle. The first caps were made from a pair of old boots belonging to founder Troy Robertson. The leather looked so good on the cap, they used a few in the first bottling of TX Blended Whiskey. The rest is history!
