Prioritizing Your Wellbeing: A Wake-Up Call from a Heart Attack Sharing a personal experience that's shaped my perspective on workplace wellness. Recently, a routine pre-surgical EKG revealed I'd had a silent heart attack. This came as a shock, as I hadn't experienced any symptoms. It turns out, up to 60% of heart attacks can be silent. This experience forced me to re-evaluate the impact of my work environment. While I can't pinpoint the exact cause, I can identify a timeframe that coincided with a particularly stressful period in my career when it likely occurred. It's a wake-up call to all of us. Chronic stress from a toxic workplace can have a significant physical impact. Your health deserves to be a priority. Here's my message to you: Listen to your body. Don't ignore the signs of stress, even if they seem subtle. Prioritize your well-being. If you're in a toxic environment, know that you have the power to make a change. Seek support from friends and loved ones. Don't be afraid to move on. There are workplaces that value your well-being and foster a healthy environment. Remember, you deserve kindness and respect – starting with yourself. Don't let a negative work environment compromise your health and happiness. Have I learnt anything? Since dipping my toes in the wellbeing industry I've learnt a lot. 🧘🏻♀️💆🏽♀️ 💙 Wellbeing is vast. 💚 There's the side that still focuses on weight loss and there's the side that focues more on overall wellbeing. 💜 There's no one size fits all in regards to wellbeing. Wellbeing is incredibly unique. 🩷 Boundaries are key. I don't just mean work/life balance, I'm talking general life and people. 🧡 Focus on what wellbeing means to you and ensure the people you follow on social media reflect that.
