It’s how people feel when they see a sea of native grasses swaying in the breeze.
Prairie restoration is about rebuilding ecosystems,
supporting native wildlife,
and preserving the biodiversity of the High Plains.
It's not about adding a few pretty plants to the landscape,
or neglecting invasive species,
and it’s not creating artificial habitats that don’t last.
The best part?
By using native seed mixes and managing invasives, prairies can bounce back with minimal intervention.
This is the kind of landscape where I grew up.
It's a wonderland of textures, smells, and sounds. Imagine yourself in a sea of grass beneath these endless, blue skies. Imagine the feel of the wind tugging at your shirt like a friendly dog.
Imagine those things, and maybe you will understand why it's so important to me to preserve this land for future generations.
Even better, come visit!
