Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, AIG

During this week’s AIG Women’s Open at Scotland’s historic Old Course at St Andrews, I sat down with Co-Chair of Pebble Beach Company and President of Globicon Heidi Ueberroth for a fireside chat about recent trends in women’s professional sports. The industry has continued to witness a rise in momentum, and Heidi noted that the growing popularity of female athletes reflects business’s focus on diversity.   “There has always been great talent in women’s sports, and many are now seeing value in this space,” Heidi added.   AIG shared a vision with The R&A six years ago to make the AIG Women’s Open the highest quality Major in women’s golf. We’ve made significant progress, but we are not done yet.   #AIGWO #AIGAllies

What a great opportunity to discuss the growing momentum in women's sports and the importance of fostering diversityand inclusion across all areas, including sports. As Heidi Ueberroth rightly pointed out, there has always been exceptional talent in women's sports, and it's encouraging to see more people and companies recognizing the value and potential in this space. The joint effort of AIG and The R&A to elevate the AIG Women's Open to the highest quality Major in women's golf is an excellent example of how collaboration can drive meaningful change. While significant progress has been made, there is still much work to be done to continue promoting and supporting female talent in sports. I invite everyone to reflect on how we can continue supporting and celebrating the achievements of female athletes and how we can contribute to this growing wave of recognition and respect for women's sports. What other initiatives do you think are effective in promoting the growth and visibility of women's sports? Let's share ideas and build a more inclusive future in sports together! Let's redefine what's possible together! Let's talk and build the future together!

Such an inspiring conversation Peter Zaffino! It’s incredible to see how women’s professional sports are gaining the recognition they deserve, both in terms of talent and the business value they bring. The AIG Women’s Open is a testament to how dedication and a shared vision can elevate the game and provide more opportunities for female athletes. Kudos to you, Heidi, and everyone involved in pushing this forward—there’s still so much potential to unlock! 🙌 #WomenInSports #AIGWO #ProgressInAction

Such a true statement: “There has always been great talent in women’s sports, and many are now seeing value in this space,” Heidi added Fantastic AIG 🙌🏽
