Team members gathered at our Headquarters for a #WellnessDay, featuring a soothing sound bowl session and power smoothies, prepared by the talented culinary team from The Mather in Evanston, IL. Sound bowls are used during our Sensory Symphony Swim, one of the signature experiences offered to both team members and residents to support their wellness journey.     

We recently collaborated with the Renaissance Court Regional Senior Center in downtown Chicago to host a “Lunch & Learn” for older adults in the community. The program featured a presentation from Mather Institute on the health benefits of volunteering, followed by mindful movements to promote overall well-being. 

We love to see meaningful connections within our communities! A noteworthy reunion unfolded at Mather Place (Wilmette, IL) when kitchen supervisor Madeline reconnected with her former piano teacher, Francine, who happens to be a resident. The two shared a special moment at the piano.

Mather Institute is proud to announce the 2024 Innovative Research on Aging Awards recipients! These annual awards recognize applied research dedicated to improving the lives of older adults. We’re proud to announce that The Mather in Tysons, VA, has received the highest honors for Interior Merchandising of a Community Amenity/Clubhouse and Best Service Enriched Senior Living Community. These accolades celebrate our community's intentional design, which brings together luxury brands, an international flair, biophilic design, and sustainability.   The Aurora Awards are presented annually to outstanding builders, planners, architects, and developers. We extend our gratitude to our partners who helped bring The Mather to life, which includes SCB, studio 121 and The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company.

Our new beekeeping program at The Mather (brought to us by Alvéole) launched earlier this summer and we’re still buzzing with excitement! Residents celebrated #NationalHoneyBeeDay this week with a hands-on artisanal honey extraction workshop! Sustainability is important to us, and our talented chefs will use this hyper local honey in our food and beverages while the bees pollinate up to a few miles around the Tysons, VA area.
