Technology today is literally at our fingertips. It flows seamlessly throughout our days, so much so that the only time we think about it is when something doesn't work. Today is National IT Professionals Day, so we want to thank our information technology professionals for all they do to support our students' ability to learn about the tools that help them get online and prepare for them for the jobs of the future. Are you an IT professional? Tell us what you love about what you do in the comments below. #NationalITProfessionalsDay 💻

Sowing the seeds of education. The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation awarded over $4 million to schools and nonprofits earlier this month. And our very own Cougars at Crow Leadership Academy were one of hundreds of grant recipients. Jen Ruby, International Baccalaureate coordinator and classroom garden champion at Crow, along with Jennifer Barlow, assistant principal at Crow, and several teachers accepted the grant check that was presented by the store manager (and Lamar High graduate) at our local Sprouts store on Green Oaks and I-20. This grant will be used in Crow Academy’s outdoor classroom, where students are growing black-eyed peas and watermelons in raised garden beds. #SproutingHealthyCommunitiesDay🌱

Educators at the Arlington ISD Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center have an exciting announcement! The Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), a student organization, received a $1,000 grant from Carter Blood Care for hosting three blood drives during the 2023-2024 school year that resulted in the collection of 139 units of blood that saved over 400 lives. Great job by our students and our educators for supporting those students in exciting learning opportunities such as this. 💪

Help us congratulate the recipient of our Arlington ISD Community Partner Award of Appreciation for September, Rush Creek Church! Lead Pastor Marty Collier accepted the award at tonight’s Board of Trustees meeting. For over a decade, the church has been an extraordinary partner and sponsor of many community events in Arlington ISD such as Back to School Kickoff, job fairs and more. Each year, the church partners with seven Arlington ISD schools for Rush Week, assisting teachers and staff as they prepare for a new school year. This year, the church also gifted Seguin High School with a $10,000 donation to support an on-campus food pantry. Its dedication, generosity and unwavering support have made a profound impact on our community and our schools. We thank you for all that you do!

Texas Ranger Corey Seager, his wife Madisyn and their friends gave back to Arlington ISD students who are dealing with homelessness or are unaccompanied, by covering a shopping spree at Academy Sports + Outdoors to help them get ready for the new school year. In the comments below, help us thank the Seagers, Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, Texas Rangers players and Academy for their help in making this a day to remember for our students. 🙌 🙌 View pictures at: https://lnkd.in/gw9KxviS.
