Andreas Escher is a writer and graphic artist known for Katakis (1988), Turrican II: The Final Fight (1991) and X-Out (1990).
He originally trained as an office machine mechanic but discovered he had a talent for creating graphics on his Commodore 64. In 1988 Manfred Trenz presented him with an opportunity to work at Rainbow Art. This was a great opportunity for him because they were childhood friends who had a fondness for shoot-'em-up games such as R-Type. Katakis for the C64 was an idea that bloomed from their passion for shoot-'em-up style games. As time passed, he was given the responsibility to assist with the conception and creation of the graphics for Turrican 2 on the C64. Turrican 2 was such a huge success on the C64 that he eventually made the graphical transfer from the C64 to the Amiga.
In late 1992 to 1995 he worked as a freelancer for Factor 5, during his time there he worked on various projects including Konami's ISS Deluxe MegaDrive, Animanicas and Probotector 2 for the Gameboy. Over time, he got the opportunity to work for Lucas Arts on Rebel Assault 2 for the PS1 and Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures for MegaDrive, but this last game was never released.
In 2008, his career took a more stable turn, and he began working for the gambling industry as a Senior Technical Artist.- Director

Director and writer Franz Hofer was born in Malstatt, as son of a state-railway-official. He went to school there and in Trier, where his father worked for a while. He left school in 1899, and went to Altenburg (Saxonia)for studying engineering, but it is not known if he realy studied there. In 1910 he was working as writer and actor at the Zentral Theater in Berlin, in the same year he wrote hios first film script for a Henny Porten movie. Due to his scripts, the Luna Filmindustrie Berlin hiered him as an director. Till 1915 he directed 25 films for that company. Late 1915 he was hiered by the Messter-Filmgesellschaft, where he made 8 movies before he went to the Apollo-Filmgesellschaft, where made another 8 movies. Since December 1917 he was working for the Bayerische Filmvertriebs-Gesellschaft, making there 19 movies. 1920 he worked for the Olaf-Filmgesellschaft and Apollo, before opening his own company, the Hofer-Film G.m.b.H., turning his output from comedies and melodramas to the so-called "Sitten-Film" (films about fallen women), but his fame was fading and he returned working for other companies, but his movies at the end 20s were critical and box-office flops. He became member of the NSDAP in 1932, and made one last movie "Drei Kaiserjaeger" (1933), before returning to the stage. 1944 he attended the opening night of one of his comedies at the Stadttheater Goerlitz, and he - living in Berlin - probably died in the last days of the War or the ongoing economical chaos in post-war Germany.- Actor

Yves Massard was born in 1925 in Saarland, a German region close to the French border, occupied at the time by French troops according to the provisions of the Versailles Treaty. Drawn to the theater, Massard was trained by Pierre Fresnay and started a fruitful career on the boards in such prestigious plays as 'Une grande fille toute simple' (by André Roussin), 'Les mains sales' (by Jean-Paul Sartre) or 'Un tramway nommé désir' (by Tennessee Williams). In parallel, he began to appear in a few late forties films, but in bit parts. His roles started to grow in 1952 and for ten years he worked regularly in up to three films a year. But nothing much remains of his work, at least in film history. To be fair, it is not by starring for Maurice Cloche, Jean Gourguet or Walter Kapps that you buy yourself a stairway to eternity. One major role in a Spanish masterpiece Bardem's 'Calle Mayor' earned him a handful of roles in Spain, but once again it was in desperately uninteresting films, two of which were directed by Jesus Franco, the king of the Z's! After 1962, this good actor worked only sporadically , sometimes in tiny parts in A films (his scenes were even deleted in the Bronson vehicle 'Le passager de la pluie'), at others in more fleshed-out roles but in bombs by Max Pécas or the like. A sad ending for a thespian who deserved better.- Actor

German entertainer, the daughter of a furniture dealer. Rex was initially trained as a singer and dancer, the latter in Zurich under the noted choreographer and expressionist dance specialist Mary Wigman. She began her career on stage in her home town Saarbrücken as Rut Gerhard, singing and dancing in revues and musical comedies. In 1947, she married an ex-Luftwaffe officer and hypnotherapist, Dr. Gerhard Rex, and had a 12-year long hiatus from performing. In September 1958, she was engaged by Peter Kreuder to play Zarah Leander's daughter in his musical Madame Scandaleuse at the Viennese Raimundtheater. At this time, the journalist and producer Wolfgang Rademann (best known as the creator of the popular TV series Das Traumschiff (1981) and The Black Forest Hospital (1985)) prompted her name change to Rut Rex-Gerhard (which then became Rut Rex).
A very attractive and personable blonde, Rex continued to perform on the stage from 1962, appearing in Hamburg and Vienna opposite Freddy Quinn in the musical Heimweh nach St. Pauli and in Berlin as Helen of Troy in the play Das Opfer Helena. In 1967, she released her first music single, followed by six albums of chansons between 1972 and 1977. She was seen on the screen in a few movies and TV productions with musical content, including The White Horse Inn (1960) and Sexbombe mit Tick (1970). By that time she acquired the popular sobriquet 'Sexy Rexy'. There was to be one more name change: having divorced Rex in 1971, she got married the following year to the journalist and TV executive Joseph Viehöver (1925-1973) and has been henceforth known as Rut Rex-Viehöver. Her last screen appearance was in 2005.- Fridolin Sandmeyer was born in 1987 in Saarbrücken, Saarland, Germany.
