Review of Angstig gehecht

This instalment sees the team investigating a fatal car crash; it is rather odd as the victim is found twenty metres from her car. Almost immediately it becomes clear that her car had been hit by a second vehicle and she had been deliberately struck on the head at the site she died. It later emerges that she was pregnant; something that certainly seemed to surprise her husband. Suspects soon emerge and Professor T states that he knows who the killer is but needs further evidence. Away from the case Professor T has been asked by his psychiatrist to list his mother's personality properties; he comes up with a long list; all of it negative. Annelies is having to deal with the fact that her father's condition is deteriorating.

The central mystery in this case is intriguing and as the victim's husband is the national gymnastics coach it gives Professor T a reason to let us know his views on sport... he is not a fan! There are plenty of laughs to be had; mostly provided Koen De Bouw, Goele Derick and Viviane De Muynck as Professor T, Mrs Sneyers and the Professor's mother respectively. This humour is balanced by scenes featuring Annelies and her father; these are well acted and very touching. There are also flashback scenes showing why Professor T has his opinion of sports; these are difficult viewing as they are humiliating for his younger self. Overall another good episode with character development and a solid mystery.
