Giving this an 7.5/10 rating
Set deep in the 1970's England in the middle of nowhere, this is a slow burner horror that starts with death, and ends with death?? Bleak looking in look and story, you really have to be invested in this, otherwise you might miss the wheels turning.
Matt Smith and Morfydd Clark are very slight and calm, both deliver in the acting department, Erin Richards ties the three all in. Tragedy is turned into a weird kind of rebirth, a family brought together and torn apart by strange going ons in muddy England. Spooky music that works and a simple run time help this film not out stay it's welcome.
The browns and blacks set the background, with blood really being the only colour here, on purpose I see. You will like Rabbits after this. I liked this as it was a surprise, in a good way. Great ending, you must decide.
