WrestleMania is undoubtedly considered the utopia of pro wrestling where every sportsperson and entertainer dreams of getting featured. With that being said, former WWE star Brodus Clay once recalled the time when he almost got his WrestleMania moment stolen until John Cena saved the day.

According to Brodus Clay’s interview with Chris Van Vliet, his segment from WrestleMania 28 was nearly canceled by Vince McMahon, until John Cena made sure that Clay got every bit of his WrestleMania moment. Revealing how Cena went out of his way to help him, Clay shared the anecdote that will even make the Hollywood icon’s haters happy.

WWE sacrificed 28 wrestlers and backstage talent on Wednesday all in the name of WWE’s stock.
That sounds crude, but it’s true.
WWE announced today that 28 individuals were fired. More full-time employees would be furloughed or laid off and construction on the company’s new headquarters has halted as well. The savings for WWE is about $4 million per month, they bragged in a press release.
That $4 million per month sounds like a lot … until you realize WWE has $90 million in cash on hand and has upwards of $500 million available if they maximized everything and extended all of their credit lines.
The cuts were, of course, blamed on coronavirus.
But make no mistake about it, these cuts were made for one reason and one reason only … to protect WWE’s stock price. The moves were made to protect profit margin. It affected a lot of lower-card talents, some of whom...

The man who allegedly stole Tom Brady's Super Bowl jersey has been up close and personal with Tom, Robert Kraft and other Super Bowl stars for years ... and TMZ Sports has the photo proof. Mauricio Ortega made a habit of snapping selfies with the big stars from the Super Bowl games he covered during his stint as the news director for La Prensa -- a Mexican media outlet. Prior to Monday night’s live Raw broadcast, the company taped matches for this week’s episodes of Superstars, Main Event, and Smackdown. There were only five matches in total, as the pre-WrestleMania shows are typically clip-heavy.
I attended the tapings last night, so here’s my notes of what went down…
Superstars
Jack Swagger pinned Tyler Breeze with a Vader Bomb
Main Event
Ryback pinned Fandango with a Shell Shock
Smackdown
Aj Styles defeated Heath Slater in a competitive match. Slater got the heat when he knocked Styles off the turnbuckle and “The Phenomenal One” fell off and hit his face on the ring steps. Styles came back, fought off interference from the Social Outcasts, and got the pin with the Phenomenal Forearm. Prior to the match, Heath Slater cut a promo where he promised the Outcasts would win the “2011 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Tyler Breeze is the latest name to be added to the third annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal that will air during the WrestleMania 32 pre-show.
Breeze’s addition makes it 7 names that are confirmed for the contest. The other names are; Kane, Curtis Axel, Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Heath Slater and last year’s winner Big Show.
With 8 matches confirmed for the show which takes place in just over a week’s time, it seems unlikely that any more bouts will be added to the card, meaning that if you aren’t in the Battle Royal, you’re probably not getting on the show.
Notable wrestlers without a match on the card yet include the whole Wyatt family of Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan (though there are injury concerns over both Bray and Harper).

The Road to WrestleMania ran through Hershey, Pennsylvania Sunday night as the Superstars and Divas of World Wrestling Entertainment performed at an non-televised live event.
In a co-main event, Aj Styles challenged Kevin Owens for the WWE Intercontinental Championship while Kane and Big Show battled The Wyatt Family’s Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman in a Tornado Rules Hershey Street Fight. Yours truly was in attendance to witness those two bouts, as well as the rest of the action WWE unleashed on the Sweetest Place on Earth.
A show so close to WrestleMania, I could not wait to see what the reaction would be for some of the company’s biggest stars and the stories they would tell.
Needless to say, I was surprised by what I encountered.
What were the fans in attendance like? How were the performances of the men and women after a long weekend of work and travel?...

WrestleMania may be recognized by both WWE and fans alike as The Showcase of the Immortals, but not every Superstar that has appeared on the card belonged there.
From ridiculously contrived characters to trivial competitors known more for their antics in territorial promotions than anything they accomplished in a Vince McMahon-owned ring, they are the performers who remain footnotes in the long and illustrious history of wrestling’s premiere event.
With WrestleMania 32 rapidly approaching, the likelihood is that at least one Superstar will one day join these men as the answer to a trivia question and nothing more.

Leonardo DiCaprio (finally) took the Oscar for best actor, and his fans on Twitter can't contain their happiness. The Internet offered up memes on top of memes for DiCaprio - who after years of being nominated, finally snagged the award for his role in The Revenant. Rather than focus on his win (a long overdue one, according to many fans), the actor used his acceptance speech to call attention to global warming. "Our production needed to move to the southern tip of this planet to find snow. Climate change is real. It is happening right now," he said. "It is...

WWE Smackdown was taped in Indianapolis on Tuesday night, with Triple H opening the show with a promo on the injured Roman Reigns. Worryingly for WWE, Hunter got cheers. He was stood next to a podium with the WWE Title belt and talked up how he’s going to beat Reigns at WrestleMania.
The first match of the night was Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Rusev and Alberto Del Rio versus Kalisto, Sin Cara, Neville and Dolph Ziggler. Barrett was back in the ring for the first time in a while, but it was Sheamus scoring the pin with a Brogue Kick on Neville.
Kevin Owens was interviewed by Renee Young. He called out Dean Ambrose for an Intercontinental Title rematch, but he of course knew that Ambrose was out injured. Big Show then turned up to set up a match for later.
D-Von Dudley defeated Jimmy Uso with a quick roll up.

Not every wrestler gets to challenge for the big belt. The card is pyramid shaped for a reason, but that just means there’s room in the rest of the card for everyone.
At present, it’s more or less the same six men in rotation, getting TV time and storylines over and over again. Now, not everyone gets to be Daniel Bryan (hey, it looks like even Daniel Bryan doesn’t get to be Daniel Bryan), or have their Cinderella story propel them to the main event.
Many wrestling fans love Heath Slater’s work but are still well aware of the limitations of the performer: he’s probably upper midcard at best, even if they give him a ball to run with. Equally, Zack Ryder was horribly treated by WWE, but not many people would suggest that he deserved to be pushed to the moon for having a successful Youtube show.

Did you know that every single WWE superstar who walked out of last year’s WrestleMania as champion are currently out of action due to injury? Did you also know that the majority those superstars, if not all of them, are likely to miss this year’s WrestleMania, too?
WWE are hoping to break attendance records with this year’s WrestleMania, but you have to wonder whether the thirty second instalment of the event will fail to deliver due to so many big-name performers being confined to the bench.
While it is possible for a few of these performers to return in time for the biggest show of them all on April 3rd, it’s clear that their inactivity will effect the show’s buildup and will also alter what role they will be able to play at the Grandaddy Of Them All.

The most recent WWE Tough Enough winner has landed himself in some hot water with a since-deleted tweet that mocked the new quartet Social Outcasts.
Josh Bredl’s rash decision resulted in immediate criticism from WWE superstars, and not just the four group members.
The tweet in question read, “Yup.. I like it.. #SocialJobbers” and was later deleted, but Josh — who wrestles as Bronson Matthews — was verbally taken to the woodshed by WWE wrestlers such as Curtis Axel, Heath Slater, Adam Rose, Stardust and Kevin Owens.
While the three Social Outcast members mocked and made light of the situation, Stardust and Owens lashed out at the rookie, with Stardust tweeting, “Enjoy dressing in the hall d**k. Not blocked. Banned.” Owens blocked Matthews, tweeting “Look at the veteran here with the big fancy insider terms!”

Alberto Del Rio has won back the Us Title, in a match to be aired on Thursday’s Smackdown.
The show was taped on Tuesday night in Lafayette, Louisiana. Del Rio’s victory means that Kalisto’s Us Title run barely lasted a day. He won it back via distraction when King Barrett got involved.
What was the point in doing the original title switch? It is because WWE are trying to create interest for Smackdown now that is on the USA Network, and having Del Rio win the belt back is seen as dramatic. They are already crowing about it on their website, trying to generate interest for the broadcast. There’s also genuine desire to push Kalisto, and he can at least say that he’s a former Us Champion. Did it undermine him to lose it so quickly? Possibly, but he’s also had more...

It’s been noted in the past that WWE has been looking at developing a “kids themed” show to possibly air on the WWE Network in the future. They even taped a pilot episode at one point. On Thursday evening (January 7th), the plans were put into motion as the company taped the first edition of a new show called Nxt Kids prior to the Nxt television tapings.
The show was taped at Full Sail University in Florida, and according to reports from the tapings, Corey Graves called the matches alongside two children. Two matches were taped for the show, and both of the matches involved main roster talent (which makes the title of the show questionable).
The matches taped were: Becky Lynch vs. Natalya and The Big Show vs. Heath Slater.
Following the main event, the little girl who is often filmed alongside Bayley her super-fan, Izzy) interviewed Big Show for the cameras.

As I was live tweeting Raw over at @WhatCultureWWE on Twitter, I was preparing for Dolph Ziggler to have a random mid card match with a talent when all of a sudden Heath Slater appears with Adam Rose, Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas. I immediately perked up and wondered what was going on. Was this 2016’s answer to the J.O.B Squad?
The 4 stars seemed to be so out of place together that it kinda worked. The mismatch of personalities kind of matched. Then, when Slater scored a pinfall over Ziggler and the four cut passionate promos on their new partnership, it suddenly seemed that WWE was putting these four under-utilized talents together to create a faction that might give them something substantial to do on WWE Television.

WWE appeared to form the 2016 version of The Job Squad on last night’s Raw. Heath Slater fronted a new faction called “Social Outcasts” along with Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas and Adam Rose.
The Showoff and Slater faced off in a singles match, but instead of appearing alone – which Heath has done since 3Mb members Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal were fired in 2014 – The One Man Band was accompanied by Messrs Axel, Rose and Dallas with no explanation.
However, if you look at each of the Superstar’s social media accounts, you’ll notice that they were all tweeting about ‘change’ in the build up to Raw – hinting that a new faction could be on the horizon.

Vince McMahon’s on screen return to WWE Monday Night Raw isn’t coincidental. Clearly unhappy about the fact that ratings have been sagging, the head honcho of the entire company decided to interject himself into proceedings. The result is a rivalry with Roman Reigns, the man the promotion hope will become their latest big babyface sensation.
This week, Raw took place in Brooklyn, New York, smack bang in the middle of the territory the McMahon family consider their own. Overall, shows have had a much better flow in recent weeks, which can only be considered a plus point. The question must be asked however, where was this kind of fare when the promotion needed it most a few months ago? Why has it taken a lack of interest from fans to spark renewed vigour from those in charge?

It’s that time of year again where we’ve all eaten a little bit too much, we’ve all drank a little bit too much and where suddenly, The Big Show is once again an unstoppable monster and decides to enter himself into the Royal Rumble.
Big Show has competed in over 10 Royal Rumble matches and while we all roll our eyes and groan at his renewed monster status, his credentials for the 30-man match are pretty impressive. Out of the ashes of Survivor Series, WWE offered up quite a tepid episode of Monday Night Raw. The program opened up with another lengthy diatribe, before degenerating into a show filled with characters that don’t often get house room these days. The likes of Mark Henry, Heath Slater and even El Torito (in a backstage segment) were all featured throughout Raw.
Looking at social media response, this didn’t do much for many watching the broadcast. There was an overwhelming sense that the company were simply killing time, which can sometimes happen at this time of year. It’s almost as though WWE want to power through to the Royal Rumble, which is when ‘WrestleMania Season’ can begin.

There was an overwhelming sense that the company were simply killing time, which can sometimes happen at this time of year. It’s almost as though WWE want to power through to the Royal Rumble, which is when ‘WrestleMania Season’ can begin.
It’s all very well and good to look to ‘Mania, but WWE have a lot of television to produce before reaching the At&T Stadium. There’s...

This week’s Smackdown taping took place in Indianapolis, Indiana. Here are the results from the show.
Roman Reigns started Smackdown with a promo with a table, ladder and chair in the ring. He was interrupted by WWE Champion Sheamus. Reigns wanted to fight Sheamus, but Sheamus just laughed at him and called him a “walking, talking Adele song” as an insult. They teased a confrontation. Reigns promised that he would get back the WWE Title at TLC.
The Dudley Boyz beat Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan by disqualification because Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt interfered. Harper and Rowan put Bubba Ray Dudley through a table and Strowman choked out D-Von Dudley.
Paige beat Becky Lynch via pinfall.

Here is one to add to the “never would have expected that” list. WWE’s Hornswoggle, best known as the miniature leprechaun who taunts various wrestling personalities, has been suspended by the company due to his first violation of the WWE wellness policy.
WWE issued the following release on WWE.com.
“In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Dylan Postl (Hornswoggle) for 30 days, effective immediately, for his first violation of the company’s policy.”
There has yet to be any word on the nature of Hornswoggle’s violation, whether it is due to recreational drug use, performance enhancing drugs or supplements, or something else.
The 29 year old Hornswoggle has been part of WWE now for close to a decade, originally entering the company in 2006 as “Little Bastard,” a leprechaun partner to Fit Finlay. He later went on to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion in 2007 by defeating...

What has been billed as the final batch of Superstars for WWE 2K16 has been confirmed this afternoon.
Here are the names in full: Bray Wyatt, Mikey Whipwreck, The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & Big E), Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady, Stunning Steve Austin, Superstar Steve Austin, Rusev, American Bad Ass Undertaker, Baron Corbin, Brian Pillman, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Konnor, Viktor, Mark Henry, Ministry Undertaker, Ricky Steamboat, Savio Vega, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, Sting ’99, Sting Blonde and finally the two Terminator renders.
The new names show how in-depth the Stone Cold mode will be. It looks like we’re going to be travelling right through his days as a Hollywood Blonde with Brian Pillman and that feud with Ricky Steamboat, stopping off for a cup of coffee in Ecw to feud with Mikey Whipwreck (and maybe Sandman?), and then going through his main run in WWE, including the 2001 Royal Rumble.

For a while there, it seemed like tag team wrestling in World Wrestling Entertainment was dead in the water. A cursory look at some of the past champions in the period between the unification of the titles in 2009 to the current day paints a particularly dreary picture, with such historic teams as Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov, The Corre (Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel) and The New Nexus (David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty) holding the shiny copper pennies at various points.
Go even further back, to the miserable mid-2000s, and the division is cluttered with teams like Gymini, The Dicks and The Heartthrobs. It has been bleak, to say the least.
Maybe it is too optimistic to commit to this, but the winds of change seem to have spread through the WWE and tag team wrestling is a thing once more. There are actual teams inhabiting the division, The New...

In the latest weekly WWE 2K16 update from IGN.com, 22 more names have been announced as part of the game, set to be released this October:
Aiden English, Andre the Giant, Batista, Chris Jericho, Curtis Axel, Dean Ambrose, Edge, Erick Rowan, Fandango, Jbl, Luke Harper, Randy Savage, Natalya, Rick Rude, R-Truth, Ryback, Santino Marella, Sgt. Slaughter, Simon Gotch, Stephanie McMahon, The Rock and The Undertaker.
It’s an interesting mix of talent with English & Gotch recently winning the Nxt Tag Team Titles. There are also Hall of Famers in this group like Edge, Randy Savage and Sgt. Slaughter. The late Rick Rude isn’t in the WWE Hall of Fame yet, but he certainly should be considered in the future.
WWE diva Natalya commented on Twitter on how she was blown away by the details of her ring attire.

There were more names announced today for the WWE2K16 video game that launches in October.
Here are the names that were announced by IGN.com: Diamond Dallas Page, Alicia Fox, Cesaro, Tyson Kidd, Cameron, Big Show, Bam Bam Bigelow, Dolph Ziggler, Finlay, Layla, Kevin Nash, Lex Luger, The Miz, Naomi, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Darren Young and Titus O’Neil.
There aren’t that many surprises in that grouping since a lot of them are current stars. Legends like Diamond Dallas Page, Bam Bam Bigelow and Lex Luger are all welcome additions to the new game and Finlay has worked backstage in WWE for over a decade, so even though he’s not currently on television, he’s a long time employee and his inclusion isn’t too surprising.
Here’s a video of Kidd and Cesaro’s entrance.

With the release date for WWE 2K16 creeping ever closer, and 2K Games’ promise to keep feeding fans information and new details about gameplay and the ever-expanding roster every week, it’s going to be all too possible to lose sight of some of the exciting details in the scrum.
With 120 unique roster stars promised (more than ever before), the announcements will continue to come thick and fast, and with an inevitably heavy marketing campaign tied to the game, official comments and interviews will follow suit.
Thanks to the official information releases – and a number of other sources (including an interview with cover star Stone Cold Steve Austin) – it’s possible to piece together even more detail about the forthcoming game. And it all starts, inevitably, with the latest playable character announcements…

This week’s Smackdown took place in Green Bay, Wisconsin and was the last major show before WWE SummerSlam this Sunday.
Prior to Smackdown taking place, they did a dark match and also taped some matches for Main Event. The dark match for the local fans only saw Wisconsin native Hornswoggle defeat Heath Slater. That led to this tweet from Dolph Ziggler, who was obviously impressed with the match.

Here are the results from this week’s Smackdown.
Ryback took on Big Show in the opener and their match ended in a countout. They did a big spot where Ryback gave Show a clothesline that sent him through the barricade. It sounds like something that could be difficult to pull off.

After last year’s less than stellar effort, Yuke’s has a lot to prove with the upcoming WWE 2K16. One aspect of the franchise that is being improved this time around is the roster size. The 120 superstar roster, which is almost double the amount featured last year, already has fans salivating over who could be making appearances. While a full list hasn’t been revealed yet, publisher 2K Games has revealed 19 more wrestlers set to be featured in the title.
Pulling from both the past and present of the WWE, the latest roster reveal includes something for every wrestling fan. Whether you grew up watching WCW or have become addicted to Nxt, odds are you’ll find a superstar you approve of.

A new video posted by IGN has apparently revealed the (almost) full roster for WWE 2K16.
It is common knowledge now that the new game will have a bumper roster of 120 unique characters, but the list below falls a few short of that while Hulk Hogan is still a part of it. The Hulkster has been removed from the game altogether for reasons that you don’t need me to tell you about.
There are a number of shocking inclusions, including Superstars down the pecking order in Nxt and Attitude Era stars who had very little to do with cover star Stone Cold Steve Austin. While there are also a number of notable exclusions, including the Legion of Doom, who seemed to be nailed on for a place in the new title after leaked video footage appeared to show Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and Jim Ross recording commentary...

This week’s Smackdown was part of a very busy week from WWE since they had a solid Payback show on Sunday, a really good Raw episode on Monday and another exciting Nxt Takeover special on Wednesday. With Smackdown taping on Tuesday and airing in the Us on Thursday it definitely got lost in the shuffle. That’s what happens when WWE doesn’t treat it like a major show.
The good news about this week’s Smackdown is that there was at least some storyline progression. There are some weeks where they barely do anything in that regard. However, this week there was a good focus on the Divas Title, Tag Team Titles and some of the other feuds that started to develop on Raw. That’s what happens when you only have two weeks until the Elimination Chamber show.

We are a couple of weeks removed, now, from WrestleMania, and we are heading towards WWE’s next PPV, Extreme Rules. The WWE product hasn’t really changed a great deal since a month ago, except for Brock Lesnar no longer being WWE Champion and taking time-off, and different feuds being underway. Mostly though, on television, it’s the same players in many of the same set-ups. Let’s see how tonight plays out, shall we?

Firmly into the home straight for Wrestlemania 31 from Santa Clara and off of the back of last night’s Raw, it appears the final card has been set, although you should expect to see some kind of Tag Title match added at some point, probably for the mammoth Pre-Show!
Officially added to the card last night was the long suspected, long awaited clash between ‘The Viper’ Randy Ortron and ‘Mr. Money in the Bank’ Seth Rollins. Rollins officially accepted Orton’s challenge in the opening segment on the condition Orton face Rollins later in the show.
Far from WWE to give away one of ‘Mania’s marquee match-ups, this of course was a tease of not just the Orton vs. Rollins match but also Sting’s first ever WWE match against Triple H, when he joined Orton in the ring to fend of the Authority as Raw went off the air.

WWE Survivor Series 2014 was an event that showed it was time for a product refresh. This was probably why the big story for the pay-per-view was Vince McMahon pitting Team Authority vs Team Cena in battle with the tease that we would see the downfall of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon… surely that couldn’t happen could it? (insert knowing wink here)
As usual when a pay-per-view like WWE Survivor Series 2014 starts with a tag team match this is one of the quality fights of the card. In a Fatal 4-Way match between Goldust & Stardust vs. The Usos vs. Los Matadores vs. The Miz & Mizdow the teams did their usual spots and even came up with a good ending. 2014 saw a strong year for the tag team division and this was a match that showed just why, surely WWE can’t mess that up can they?
It may seem unfair...

WWE Smackdown was taped on Tuesday night from Dayton, Ohio. The show opened with Kane making the announcement that Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan would be teaming together later in the show. It would be tag team turmoil!
Bray Wyatt defeated R Truth, with the Sister Abigail in a short match.
Paige defeated Summer Rae. The Bella Twins did commentary for this and did some trash talking to Paige in the aftermath.
Fandango went over Adam Rose with the top rope legdrop.
Overall, that was a really weak undercard. Very predictable and mostly jobbers. The Tag Team Turmoil got underway with Reigns and Bryan versus The Miz and Mizdow. Bryan pinned the Miz. Next up, The Usos.
This one went long and had good action. Jey Uso eventually tapped to the Yes Lock. Next up, Los Matadores. Bryan quickly got over that one with another submission. The next...

Justin Gabriel has reportedly quit World Wrestling Entertainment this weekend.
According to a report from Dave Meltzer at F4WOnline.com, Gabriel “quit WWE this weekend but we don’t know any details past that right now.”
Gabriel was announced to be part of the 30-man Royal Rumble this weekend and will likely be replaced for tonight’s event.
It is not a major shock that he would quit just because he’s barely been seen on the major television shows in WWE and if he is then he’s only there to lose a match quickly. He was also rumored to be the guy that wore the Bunny costume a few times on television, although a number of different people did that too.
Gabriel originally signed with WWE developmental in 2008. In early 2010 he was a part of the first season of Nxt in which he finished in third place.

They say to be a successful superstar, your gimmick needs to be an extension of your own personality. You only need to look at 3Mb as a recent example where that blatantly wasn’t the case. The gimmick was ready made for Heath Slater, you can tell he is kind of a ‘goof’ in real life and plays the role of a deluded rocker well.
For Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal however, it was painfully obvious they were having to try too hard to become rockers of Slater’s standing.
The pair had pretty well established gimmicks before the band got together. McIntyre was labelled as ‘The Chosen one’ by Vince McMahon of all people and had a long reign as the Intercontinental Champion, headlining SmackDown with the likes of The Undertaker. Mahal, came into the WWE as The Great Khali’s ‘brother’ and was making little, but progressive waves as a heel.

Oh, what a three hours and five minutes it was in Detroit's oft-referenced Joe Louis Arena on Monday night. Faces long in absentia descended, queasy alliances seemed to gel and poor Fandango and Adam Rose were emphatically re-cemented as transitional squash talent.
It's a lot to take in, I know. But neither quiver nor fret, because as always, I've broken the action down into five essential takeaways. And, as a bonus, thrown in a bunch of stuff that may have taught us nothing, but gave everyone something to tweet about.

Last week, Atlanta Police issued an arrest warrant for WWE Superstar Heath Slater after he was alleged to have assaulted a woman following WrestleMania Xxvii in 2011.
Slater, whose real name is Heath Miller, is accused of putting female hotel security guard in a chokehold and trying to force her back to his room. The woman in question did not report the incident to police, instead informing her employer, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
As expected, Slater, who is still a regular on WWE television, denied the charges and released this statement on Twitter: “The charges & civil suit brought against me are completely frivolous. I am innocent and these charges will be dismissed as soon as any judge hears the evidence. My attorney Don Samuel will handle this matter.”

This is the first high profile misdemeanour WWE has had for quite a while now. Long gone are the days of ‘travel...

Smackdown was taped on Tuesday night from Fort Wayne, Indiana. The show will air Friday night and is going to be notable for the arrival of a “New Day” in WWE.
Proceedings started with The Big Show on Miz TV. This was interrupted by Daniel Bryan, who announced that he’s in charge of the show for the night. He stated that Rusev would defend the Us Title in a 20 man battle Royal. Also, Luke Harper will defend the Ic Title against Dolph Ziggler.
That was a decent start to the show, offering some attractive lures to stick with the broadcast.
Rusev retained the Us Title in the battle Royal. It was mostly undercard guys who nobody cared about. The few big names were Erick Rowan, Jack Swagger, Big Show, Cesaro, Miz and Mizdow. It came down to Swagger and Rusev, with the heel eventually powering the Real American over the top rope.

There we were, a mere six days from the 28th annual Survivor Series, and the question on everyone's mind was simple: Will the Bunny finally fight back against Adam Rose by simulating a sexual act? Breathe easy, because the answer was: Yes! Yes! Yes!
But for real, folks, there was plenty of substantive mat action and even more prolonged banter on the microphone last night, and I'm here to disassemble it all into an occasionally useful and intermittently amusing digest. I've broken the action down into five essential takeaways and,...

WWE was taped this week from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. The crowd was nearly a sell-out, and it didn’t take long for the UK fans to make their voices heard.
Half an hour before bell time and all you could hear was “Cena sucks” chants (and many ruder variations). There was also a vocal chorus of “Cm Punk” chants. Despite all of this, Cena merchandise was selling well, with the usual contingent of women and children being the main market. At £16 for a flimsy Cena autographed card, you can see how WWE continue to find success in commercial avenues.
The tapings started with the ‘Superstars’ show. First up was Sin Cara defeating Curtis Axel in a basic match. All the usual flips and flops from Cara, but the crowd were firmly behind Axel.
The second ‘Superstars’ match was Heath Slater versus Big E. The crowd...

For the first time since March, Monday Night Raw made its triumphant return to Brooklyn's Barclays Center. It's a journey that, going by surprise guest The Rock's Gps, necessitates touching down on the corner of Jabroni Drive and Cheap-Pop Avenue and trekking across all four of NYC's other boroughs before finally arriving in Bk to generate some heat and debut a vintage Mike Tyson varsity jacket.
Or, if you're the rest of us, it meant plopping down on a chaise lounge and plodding through three-plus hours of largely Herculean silliness.

WWE taped this week’s Smackdown on Tuesday night from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The show will air on Friday night and was notable for featuring John Cena and Dean Ambrose in tag team action.
It was Cena who opened the show, cutting an in-ring promo about his anger with Seth Rollins. Dean Ambrose interrupted the promo and shared the angry sentiments. Cena then called for a truce with Ambrose, before the moment was ruined by Kane, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins appearing on the big screen. Kane announced that Cena and Ambrose would be in action later tonight.
Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus defeated the team of The Miz and Damien Sandow. The finish came with Ziggler pinning Mizdow. Sheamus then laid the unlucky jobber out post-match. It really isn’t much fun being Damien Sandow right now.
The first vignette for Luke Harper’s new character aired.
Paige defeated Naomi.

Adam Rose made some waves upon his initial main roster debut, however, has petered out a bit since then. Despite this, Rose has continued his winning ways, thanks in part to his ever-changing pack of Rosebuds. The one constant in the group has been the Bunny, who has recently begun to involve himself in Rose’s match-ups.
Reportedly, there are some relatively big plans for the Bunny, who is shockingly getting a small push. Yes, a man in a giant white bunny costume is currently the focal point of a WWE storyline. Rose has been doing battle with the team of Slater Gator, as of late — Heath Slater and Titus O’Neil. In their various contests, Rose’s Bunny has been physically involving himself in the action — most recently, hitting Slater with a superkick on Raw.
Reportedly, there are backstage discussions about what to do with the Bunny...

Wow, what did we do to deserve a Raw like that? Vince, just tell me and I won’t do it again! We had five matches that went under two and a half minutes, a couple of sisters with questionable acting and wrestling skills dominating the talking segments, and a giant bunny attacking Heath Slater. Actually, that last one was so bizarre that I kind of liked it. Make that thing the Us Champion. It already entertains me more than Sheamus.
Also how is Raw going to have a season premiere this Sunday when they didn’t have a season finale last week? Well if we get bunch of Raws like that one in our future, they may have to be more concerned about a series finale! Would they go with the Sopranos ending and have the screen cut black as John Cena is at a diner with Nikki Bella?...

After years of working as a lower-card comedy act as a member of 3Mb, it appears as if Heath Slater is getting a push– to mid-card comedy act.
Following the release of 3Mb teammates Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre, Slater seemed to be left without a direction and was getting the majority of his WWE screen time as a part of the “Jbl & Cole Show” on Youtube.
At WWE Battleground, Slater participated in the Intercontinental Title battle royal, where he shocked fans by eliminating Cesaro, who was a favorite by many to actually win the match. Slater’s good fortunes continued when he was paired with former Prime Time Player Titus O’Neil in a tag team in which Slater called “Slater Gator,” referring to O’Neil’s Florida ties.

Raw was forced to speed along towards SummerSlam this week without many of its biggest stars. John Cena and Brock Lesnar both participated in candid, sit-down interviews to mask their absence. Surprisingly by having to think resourcefully, WWE creative managed to add a level of heat to their feud that perhaps not even their live presence could have achieved.
After setting a less than impressive “Beat the clock” time in his win over Alberto Del Rio, Dean Ambrose was able to one-up rival Seth Rollins, by costing him a match in the night’s main event. Heath Slater scored a monumental upset over Rollins in what was easily Slater’s biggest victory to date, giving Ambrose the ability to choose the stipulation in his match with Rollins at Summerslam.
If that wasn’t enough excitement, the Authority essentially turned the WWE Network heel, making “only $9.99” their new catchphrase,...
