Entertainment Weekly has revealed that The Boys season 5 has tapped Daveed Diggs for a mystery role in the R-Rated Prime Video series.
The actor is best known for starring in Hamilton (which was already a hit but became a global phenomenon thanks to Disney+) and counts the likes of Snowpiercer, The Little Mermaid, and Velvet Buzzsaw among his many film and television roles.
This isn't the first time he's circled a superhero project as it's widely believed he was a frontrunner to play Ben Grimm/The Thing in Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps. That role ultimately went to Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Diggs has also lent his voice to Amazon's Invincible as Theo, a member of a therapy group who lost their loved ones to superheroes.
As is so often the case, there's currently no word on who the actor is playing in The Boys. The series veered away from the comics some time ago,...

The marketing team for the hit Prime Video superhero satire series "The Boys" has done some incredible work blurring the lines between the show's reality and our own reality with a strong social media presence for fictional mega-conglomerate Vought International. They've also helped bridge the gap between seasons with things like the hilarious fake Fox News-style segments "Seven on 7," and now they've provided a quick update on one of season 4's biggest loose ends... sort of.
In a post on the website formerly known as Twitter, the official Vought International account shared an update on the status of A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), who disappeared in the penultimate episode of the season after Homelander (Antony Starr) discovered that he was the mole inside the Seven secretly working for The Boys.
Vought has frequently spun the disappearance of various supes in different ways, even replacing Black Noir under everybody's noses after the original one died.

The satirical superhero series "The Boys" has done a phenomenal job of making its fictional world feel just as lived-in and established as our own. Instead of Fox News, they have Vought News, for example, but they have also included a whole bunch of celebrity cameos that make that fictional world feel a little less fictional. Sometimes the cameos are just a fun bit of stunt casting, but occasionally they elevate the scene or actually have meaning behind them. Series showrunner Eric Kripke has done a pretty good job of using the cameos sparingly but going for the gold when he does, occasionally asking series co-executive producer Seth Rogen to help him secure some of his more famous friends.

As pre-production on the fifth and final season of Prime Video's The Boys gets underway, we have word on a new Supe who will be joining the party before going on to have a larger role in the recently-announced Vought Rising spin-off show.
According to Nexus Point News, Fyboy will be introduced during season 5. As far as we know, this Supe doesn't appear in the comics, but there are numerous minor and supporting characters he could be based on.
Flyboy is described as: "A white man in his twenties to thirties who was once a charismatic combat pilot, but is now a junkie with a dark past. Although he’s haunted by the trauma of his past, he maintains his confidence in the presence of cameras."

The Boys: Firecracker Actress Valorie Curry Calls Out Fan Who Crossed A Boundary At Recent Comic-Con
The recent fourth season of The Boys saw Homelander recruit two new members of The Seven, one of whom turned out to be alt-right TV host Firecracker: an openly racist, homophobic and all-round nasty customer with an axe to grind against Annie January, aka Starlight (Erin Moriarty).
Over the course of the season, Firecracker finds a way to endear herself to Homelander by taking a course of drugs which allow her to lactate. If you know anything about the seriously messed-up leader of The Seven, you'll no doubt understand why this would be of great interest to him!
Firecracker actress Valorie Curry recently attended Comic-Con Northern Ireland, and while she makes a point of noting that she had a mostly very pleasant experience, she has shared an Instagram video addressing one particularly "uncomfortable" encounter with a fan who crossed a boundary while waiting in line to meet her.

The Boys revealed how the world will learn of A-Train's absence in Season 5.
Season 4 saw Jessie T. Usher's A-Train finally make some major progress in his redemption journey. He became a full-blown informant for The Boys, and, by the finale, his new allegiance was revealed to Homelander and all of Vought.
This meant A-Train had to book it out of there and leave town in order not to be brutally murdered by his former team. Wherever he ended up, the location itself remains a mystery even to audiences.

For such a brutally violent, anarchic series, The Boys hasn't been particularly ruthless when it comes to killing off its main characters over the course of four seasons, but, not too surprisingly, it sounds like this will change in the fifth and final batch of episodes.
While speaking to TV Guide about his plans for the final season, showrunner Eric Kripke was asked if he's already decided who is going to survive and who will come to a no-doubt messy end.
"Anyone who dies in season 5 will richly deserve it. We have a certain sense of who live and who dies, but we don't have it all totally figured out. But you get to do the final season of a show and go out on your own terms, so not everyone's making it through."
Potential spoilers follow.

The Boys Prime Video series is progressing incredibly impressively so far, crushing multiple records as it continues on with its bombshell storyline. As of late, one of the most interesting elements has been Jessie T. Usher’s A-Train aka Reggie Franklin’s character arc, which has noticeably developed quite a lot since his rivalry with Jack Quaid’s Hughie.
The Boys. | Credit: Prime Video.
But while this duo’s characters are still struggling with their respective arcs, the actors in real life are already onto something else. This comes after Quaid amusingly shared an idea of a fan-fiction of the saga, featuring his and Usher’s characters in the lead. And, ironically enough, his story could even go ahead to shatter the multiple records set by the saga.

After being (narrowly) defeated and put on ice at the end of The Boys season 3, Soldier Boy made a brief appearance in the recent season 4 finale post-credits scene, and we got confirmation that Jensen Ackles will officially return as a series regular for the fifth and final season during San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend.
The former leader of Payback didn't have much loyalty to anyone but himself, but worked alongside Billy Butcher and the gang for the majority of the third season - even after finding out that Homelander was his biological son.
Unfortunately, Soldier Boy attacking Ryan forced Butcher to betray him, and it sounds like the mega-powerful Supe holds a grudge.

The Boys’ Erin Moriarty Dissects Her Performer of the Week Episode, Reveals Heath Ledger Inspiration
The Boys star Erin Moriarty looked to a surprising source of inspiration for her performance as a shapeshifter masquerading as Annie in the show’s Season 4 finale.
“I watched Heath Ledger in [The Dark Knight]. So brilliant, and he was only 27 or 26 when he shot that, which is even more insane to me. But I needed to, literally, watch people transcend their physicality [to] know I could do it,” Moriarty tells TVLine’s Keisha Hatchett at San Diego Comic-Con.

The Enterprise crew’s newest mission is a fascinating one, to say the least.
A first-look clip released during Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday found Captain Pike (played by Anson Mount), Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding), Chapel (Jess Bush), La’an (Christina Chong) and Pelia (Carol Kane) injected with a serum that transformed them into Vulcans — though Pelia was somehow immune. But something went awry, and it looks like they’ll stay that way… indefinitely!

The universe of The Boys is expanding again.
At Comic-Con on Friday, Prime Video announced that it’s ordered a prequel series called Vought Rising that will star Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, reprising their roles from the flagship series.
Ackles made an appearance onstage at Hall H in San Diego to thunderous applause, and Cash announced the series in a video. Vought Rising joins The Boys‘ college-set spinoff Gen V and the animated show The Boys Presents: Diabolical in Prime Video’s franchise. The 1950s-set series takes place in New York City and, as Ackles said at Comic-Con, will track the “humble yet diabolical” beginnings of Vought.
The Comic-Con panel allowed the main show to take a victory lap after an acclaimed season that also shared tragic parallels to real life.

“The Boys” universe is expanding with a prequel series titled “Vought Rising.” It will star Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash reprising their “Boys” universe roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively.
The new series will be set in 1950s New York. The Boys continues to be a hit for Amazon.
Season 4 of the Prime Video series, which ended on July 18, exceeded 55M viewers through its first 39 days post-premiere. That’s with just a few days of viewership for the finale.
It marks the third consecutive season of audience growth for The Boys, up 20% from Season 3 in the same time frame. It’s not Prime Video’s fourth most-viewed TV season of all time and the second most-viewed returning season of a series after Reacher Season 2.
Amazon says that 60% of the show’s Season 4 audience came from outside the U.S. with strong performances in UK, Brazil, India, Germany, Canada, France, Mexico, Spain, and Italy.
Good news for fans of The Boys: Season 5 is already in the works. Creator Eric Kripke told Deadline that the Season 5 writer’s room had convened a month or five weeks before the launch of Season...

Does Homelander hate women?
As season 4 of The Boys came to a close, Homelander actor Antony Starr sat down with Vulture for a deep dive into what makes the evil Superman tick, and one question in particular seemed to provide a lot of clarity.
When the interviewer asserted that Homelander seems to hate women, Starr was quick to dissuade that notion, stating that the lab-built superhero has conflicting feelings when it comes to the opposite sex.
"I think it’s a little more complicated than that [Laughs]," said Starr.
In response to the interviewer's reference to Madelyn Stillwell, Queen Maeve, Sister Sage and Firecracker, he replied, "Across the board, those actresses that you listed — fantastic. It’s vitally important that you have a good rapport with the people you’re working with, particularly when you’re dealing with this very strange Oedipal complex Homelander has."
"Homelander wasn’t raised with parents.

Get ready for a somewhat lengthy wait to see how phase 2 of Homelander and Sister Sage's dastardly plan for America shakes out. Actor Karl Urban has confirmed that the final season of The Boys won't begin streaming until 2026 in a post to his Instagram account.

Though season 4 of The Boys kept its principal characters alive and kicking as we head into the final season, we did lose a couple of supporting players - one of whom had emerged as a series regular and the focus of this season's main storyline.
Spoilers follow.
After Ryan accidentally(?) kills Grace Mallory, Billy Butcher abandons his humanity and decides to fully embrace his darker side and allow his V-induced tumour - which manifests as his late army buddy Joe Kessler - to take the wheel.
Butcher interrupts a meeting between his crew and Victoria Neuman, who had a change of heart and agreed to turn against Homelander for the sake of her daughter, Zoe. Unfortunately, Neuman's redemption arc is short-lived, as Butcher unleashes tentacles from his chest and brutally kills the VP-elect by ripping her in half.

The season 4 finale of The Boys is now streaming on Prime Video, and the episode - previously titled "Assassination Run" before the recent attempt on Donald Trump's life - concluded with Homelander one step away from the Oval Office... and arguably more deranged and ruthless than ever.
During an interview with Collider, actor Antony Starr was asked if he's still having fun playing the villainous leader of the Seven, and the frequent comparisons to Trump.
"One of the great things that I’ve loved, and I do love about this show, and I will continue to love as we keep going, is the layers that we’ve been able to put in with this character. We’ve always been conscious of making him three-dimensional, and not making him mustache-twirling. The season 4 finale of The Boys is now streaming, and Prime Video has released a series of new posters which hint at the potentially catastrophic events to come in the fifth and final season.
Spoilers from this point on.
Season 4 did not conclude on a positive note for our heroes - to say the least. Billy Butcher gave in to his dark side (manifested by the late Joe Kessler), killing Victoria Neuman and setting off on his own to begin his crusade to wipe out all Supes.
This leaves the rest of the team on the run, with everyone bar Annie rounded up by Homelander's forces, while the now unopposed leader of the Seven moves one step closer to world domination.
While speaking to LadBible.com, showrunner Eric Kripke teased what's to come in season 5.

A musical dream sequence aside, The Boys' sweet, good-natured, sporadically homicidal resident Supe, Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara), has never uttered a single word - until this week's season 4 finale.
After first explaining to Frenchie (Tomer Kapone) that she lost her her ability to speak when she was forced to kill another girl by The Shining Light, Kimiko heartbreakingly finds her voice again when she's forced to watch her best friend taken away by Gen V's Cate (Maddie Phillips) and Sam (Asa Germann), with the former using her powers to place Frenchie under her control.
Unable to overpower the seemingly far stronger Sam, Kimiko repeatedly screams "no" as Frenchie is led away.
During an interview with Collider, Fukuhara revealed that she actually found it difficult to give her character a voice after playing her as mute for so many years.

In the universe of The Boys, redemption arcs usually aren’t a thing, as the dark fate of the Deep’s octopus lover this season makes clear. But Jessie T. Season 3 of The Boys put the spotlight on Soldier Boy, revealing that he was Homelander's father before an explosive confrontation which ended with him seemingly blowing up high above Manhattan.
In reality, he survived and, after being recovered by Grace Mallory, was put back on ice. The world at large was led to believe Soldier Boy attacked Vought Tower and created a false narrative about him being radicalised by the Russians.

Ever since we got our first look at The Boys season 4, much has been said about actor Laz Alonso's weight loss.
Having learned nothing from the late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman's battle with cancer (the internet dubbed him "crack panther" when he was spotted looking slimmer than normal), many fans wasted no time in poking fun at Alonso, going so far as to suggest Mother's Milk must have been recast.
In an interview with Men's Health, Alonso explained his decision to lose weight and revealed that it was both for his own good and something he believed made sense for the character.
"I was heavy on caloric surplus when I first started the show," the actor said. "Season 1 and 2, I wanted to look like the comic. Season 3, we shot during and after Covid and I went from looking like the comic to looking like a very inflated version of the comic.

The Boys wraps up its fourth season tomorrow, and Prime Video has now released a promo for the sure-to-be eventful episode, which is titled "Assassination Run."
The teaser sees a dying Billy Butcher bid an emotional goodbye to Hughie on the phone, as he asks him to tell the rest of the team that he's sorry for how everything went down.
Will Butcher actually be killed off? Considering there's still another season to go, we'd say it's highly unlikely, and there is also the small matter of his mysterious - and seemingly very formidable - superpower that appears to be controlled by the part of the brain that imagines his late friend Joe Kessler is speaking to him.
We also see Homelander finalize his plan to take out soon-to-be sworn-in President Singer and replace him with Victoria Neuman. Will Sister Sage turn on the leader of the Seven after being fired last week?...

Those wondering whether A-Train will die in Season 4 of Amazon Prime Video's The Boys are looking to the comics to discover his fate in the source material.
While The Boys has taken as wild of swings as ever in Season 4 (see the infamous milk scene from Episode 6), this season still has plenty of classic drama for its core set of heroes and villains.
Specifically, Jessie T. Usher's A-Train has been through the wringer after killing Hughie Campbell's (Jack Quaid) girlfriend, Robin. Now, the tides have changed for the speedster as he realizes the truth behind Vought, all while The Boys continue their march to bring The Seven and their backers down.

[This episode contains spoilers from season four, episode seven of The Boys.]
The penultimate episode of The Boys season four could be seen as a coming out for some of the key characters. Viewers finally saw A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) reveal himself to the Seven to be the supe traitor they’ve all been searching for. And Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) admitted to the majority of the Boys vigilante group that he’s holding a Vought scientist against his will in an effort to create a supe-killing virus that can probably kill their archenemy Homelander (Antony Starr), and maybe all supes.
But the biggest coming out party in the episode was for longtime Seven member and martial arts assassin Black Noir, played by Nathan Mitchell. This is actually Black Noir II — not to be confused with the original Black Noir in the first three seasons of The Boys. (And yes, that original Noir was also portrayed by Mitchell.) The new...

This week's penultimate season 4 episode of The Boys concluded with another big reveal, although - much like last week's Joe Kessler twist - you might well have figured it out if you'd been paying close attention.
At one point during "The Insider," Butcher, Annie and Hughie encounter a Supe shapeshifter, which, of course, means that one of our heroes is going to be replaced by an evil doppelgänger at some point.
As the gang wind down at a bar after their scrap with The Deep and Black Noir, a "fan" approaches Annie and asks for a selfie. Later, Annie surprised Hughie by instigating sex while wearing her old Starlight costume, and we get confirmation that this is actually the Shifter when she steals the laptop containing all of the dirt on Victoria Neuman on it from Hughie's safe.
The episode ends with the real Annie chained up in an unknown location,...

If you've been avoiding the recent glut of Superman set photos and the spoilers they appear to have revealed, you might be a little confused by that headline!
Spoilers ahead.
We recently got confirmation that the Man of Steel (David Corenswet) will be facing off against an equally powerful foe in James Gunn's Dcu reboot. We're still not sure what the character is going to be called (Ultraman is rumored), but there's no denying that he does look quite a bit like Black Noir from The Boys!
The villain is likely being kept under a mask to hide that fact that he is a Superman clone of some sort, but actor Nathan Mitchell - who plays the new Black Noir in season 4 of the Prime Video series (he also played the previous one, but was never seen without his mask) - seems to think that the character might actually...

This post contains spoilers for "The Boys."
We don't talk enough about Kimiko Miyashiro (Karen Fukuhara) in "The Boys." With season 4 speeding through events that can only be described as outrageously bleak, much has happened since the titular group first started feeling the cracks forming within their ranks. Every member of The Boys carries an enormous weight, and the latest season does not hold back on the onslaught of trauma, perhaps to the point of sacrificing depth in favor of lurid shock value. Amidst the chaos, it is easy to overlook Kimiko, whom the latest season perceives mostly through her dynamic with Frenchie (Tomer Capone) or her viability as a weapon against other Vought-representing Supes. However, a heart-to-heart in episode 7 reveals the depths of her pain and provides us with a seminal piece of the puzzle about her past.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers from Episode 7 of “The Boys” Season 4, currently streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video.
It’s Christmas for “The Boys” — sort of.
The latest episode begins with Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) filming a puppet-themed Christmas special for Vought, complete with a puppet version of A-Train and a hilarious pro-America, anti-woke agenda. However, Ryan pulls the plug on the promo over its controversial lyrics, which were personally approved by his dad Homelander (Antony Starr).
Things aren’t going well for the elder, unraveling supe. Homelander is furious that Vought hasn’t caught the company leaker yet, after Homelander incorrectly suspected and then murdered newscaster Cameron Coleman (Matthew Edison) — who is reported publicly to have died from a brain aneurysm after a flu vaccination. Firecracker (Valorie Curry) then points Homelander toward Webweaver (Dan Nousseau), who comes clean as an informant for Butcher (Karl Urban). Homelander rewards the Spider-Man...

Prime Video has shared a teaser for this week's penultimate season 4 episode of The Boys, and it looks like we're finally going to see Billy Butcher's crew face-off against The Seven.
Though Homelander doesn't appear to be involved (it wouldn't be much of a fight if he was), we do see Butcher, Starlight and Mm throwing down against Black Noir and The Deep. A-Train is also present, but will he join his fellow Supes in order to keep the fact that he's been feeding The Boys information secret, or is it finally time for the reformed speedster to step up and be a real hero?
If not, we don't like Billy and the gang's odds. The Deep may be a moron, but he is pretty powerful. Likewise Noir, even if he does lack his predecessor's pronounced sadistic streak. Kimiko would level the playing field significantly, but she may have a...

The Boys Season 4 has been receiving criticism for its focus on the shock value over a compelling plot. However, one of the few storylines that impressed audiences this season would be A-Train’s redemption arc. Jessie T. Usher’s A-Train has undergone significant character development in the last few episodes, leading fans to speculate whether he will face his end soon.

A fight between Homelander and A-Train is inevitable in the series, and fans share their suggestions on how the fight should proceed. Fans don’t want a one-sided battle like the one between Omni-Man and Red Rush in Invincible. They would rather have a badass fight like the one between Ikaris and Makkari in Marvel’s Eternals.
