To celebrate the release of the new season of Tulsa King, which begins on Paramount+ this week, we sat down with one of the new guards to find out all about the show’s sophomore season.

In season two, Dwight (Stallone) and his crew continue to build up and defend their growing empire in Tulsa, but just as they get their bearings, they realize that they’re not the only ones who want to stake their claim. With looming threats from the Kansas City mob and a very powerful local businessman, Dwight struggles to keep his family and crew safe while keeping track of all his affairs. Plus, he still has unfinished business back in New York.

Chatting to McDonough, who plays Cal Thresher – a new adversary for Dwight and his growing empire – in the new season, we talk about his long career and how he decides on his roles, his instantaneous “yes” to working alongside Stallone, what it’s like to work with the legendary actor and watch his craft, why Stallone is still underrated as an actor outside of his action work, being drawn to villains, and the one franchise he wants to be a part of to complete his bingo card, and much more!
