Biografie

Franz Lustig graduated at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg with a master for cinematography. Since 1994 Franz has been working as director of photography for commercials and music-videos with some of the leading directors all over the world. Franz has won “Best Camera” at the German Film Awards for Land of Plenty as well as “Best European Cinematographer” for Don't Come Knocking in 2005. His documentary work includes the film 2 or 3 Things I Know About Him by Malte Ludin and the 2008 documentary Dance for All. In 2012, Franz Lustig won the Mobius award for “Best Cinematographer”. Franz´ Christmas Apple Campaign “Sway” won the Silver Lion for cinematography in Cannes and Gold Cyclope award for best cinematography, his music video Voodoo in my Blood by Massive Attack won the Golden Frog at Camerimage Festival. His other works include two Wim Wenders films: Anselm the 3D documentary on German Artist Anselm Kiefer, shot over the period of 2 1/2 years, and Perfect Days was shot in 17 days in Tokyo starring Yoshi Yakusho (awarded best actor at Cannes).
