Recensie (2)
Yes, 16 episodes would have been plenty and we probably wouldn't have missed anything crucial, but I can't say I was bored. Quite the contrary, I enjoyed all the hospital and romance plots. And that's even I don't go looking for hospital-themed series otherwise. As much as I like Jin-hyeok Choi and he was the main reason for me to watch it, I think he still has room for improvement. He’s wasted on supporting roles, but just missing something for main roles. For now I think he's somewhere in between. But I believe his charisma will only grow with age and one day he'll knock me on my ass. Which actually wasn’t far off for (Gu Family Book :) ). The main character was kind of neutral. I wasn't thrilled with her, but I didn't mind her. I was a bit more interested in doctor Shim Ji-hye, for example. Her character and perspective suited me perfectly. Clara, who played Ah-reum, has one of the prettiest female smiles I've ever seen. Whereas I found Dr. Gook rather vapid and uninteresting. I was grinning from ear to ear with delight during the final cut, so a lower rating wouldn't make sense. 4 stars. ()
It's got too many episodes for this kind of thing. Basically the same scenes were repeated over and over again – not only in their love life, but also at work. Problem-yelling-hard work-recognition. Plus, for as old as they are, they made a big deal out of some banalities (like when the boss and Jin-hee sleep together in the same bed. They were just sleeping, not doing anything, but it was as big a deal as if they were 16). I didn't like the immaturity and frequent theatrics. Plus the main character comes across so bland, almost like she wasn’t willing or able to keep carrying the lead role. Unfortunately, I didn't like Choi Jin-Hyuk's character Chang-Min either, he kind of struck me, like the rest of the series, as a teenager who first has to get his revenge, but then doesn't know what he wants, and then when he figures it out he has to usurp it and act like a little boy. That's why I liked the boss best of all; I was basically rooting for him from the very first episode (well, not for a happy ending with the heroine, but I just wanted the best for him in his imaginary life). Overall, it's a kind of bland and flavorless series that doesn't have much to offer. ()
