The theme is excellent and incredibly rich, and the dialogues are like a fairy tale. Hopkins as Freud is outstanding and precise, but the real surprise is Liv Lisa Fries as his daughter, who already excellently represents the German-speaking culture. Matthew Goode, however, is somewhat overshadowed by his colleagues. It's interesting to note that years ago, in Shadowlands, Hopkins played C. S. Lewis instead. I would really appreciate it if another play by St. Germain dedicated to the Scott and Hem duo were also adapted into film.
