"Who was my good friend Adriaan Ditvoorst?", actor - and in this case first-time director - Thom Hoffman wonders at the beginning of his film The Ditvoorst Estate. He tries to answer this question with this documentary about the life and work of Dutch filmmaker Adriaan Ditvoorst, who committed suicide in October 1987. The film contains interviews with, among others, directors Bernardo Bertolucci, Pim de la Parra and Wim Verstappen, cameraman Jan de Bont, producers Jan Vrijman, Gijs Versluijs, and Matthijs van Heijningen, and with actress Pamela Koevoets. Besides, fragments from Van Ditvoorst's movies and staged scenes with Huub van der Lubbe as the investigator are included. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
