Houria

Lyna Khoudri is very charming, so watching her suffer cannot please the male eye. The story is told too simply – we follow a talented and ambitious dancer/ballerina and her no less ambitious mother (Rachida Brakni) and their relatively peaceful life, regularly and fatefully interrupted by inexplicable violence. And there is a lot of dancing involved. The film doesn't manage to offer more, and only marginally addresses the internal political situation in what is probably the most distant and closed country in North Africa, bizarre illegal fights, and refugees.
