If I were a child, this rendition of Lassie would probably still move me; there's a bit of tension, interesting actors, and it's in color. However, currently, it feels like just a classic animal movie. While the animal is indeed very clever and beautiful, there's nothing more to it. Perhaps back then Lassie was among the first animals to gain such fame. ()
