A paranoid prison guard moves into a village flanked by a state motorway. He befriends his new neighbour, an unemployed hypochondriac supported by his wife, working in the local grocery. Weary of life and caring for her two sons, she develops an attraction to the nightclub bouncer, but he is in love with the club stripper, who is in turn waiting for the father of her child to return from the same prison where our prison guard works. A story about the demons of our day. (Segarra Films)

English Film Challenge 2018 - Czech Republic. In the films of Petr Václav, it is apparent that they have an international reach, which is probably due to Václav's stay in France. We can confidently send his films anywhere in the world, Václav is not burdened by a small Czech pond with all the good and bad that swims in it. The Roden-Vlasáková connection was already offered to us in Parallel Worlds and this time it works great as well, although in a completely different mood. According to me, Roden delivers an even better performance than in the praised Masaryk. I must not forget about Miroslav Hanuš - theater and television audiences can enjoy him to the fullest, but he did not appear in films so much. He should definitely be given more acting opportunities so that most of the nation will not remember him only as the repulsive Korejs from the 1st Battalion. And just to not praise only - I could easily do without Roden's disgusting scene in the bathroom, and I think with the screenplay Petr Václav could have played and done even more and better. ()
