Mrs. Endrényi, an old woman in Old Buda learns that her house is going to be demolished and she is going to get a new apartment. Since she would like her family members to have the same advantage, she takes them in her apartment. So every man in need of a flat tries to get near the mother, daughter, granddaughter and decide to propose to them. The apartment-surveyor, Néveri Kálmán wins Emmike's hand. It is only after the wedding that he learns that the house will not be demolished until five years later. At Christmas the whole numerous family celebrates together, when the Christmas-tree catches fire. But for a burnt down apartment they will only get a two-room flat. (official distributor synopsis)
