An epic tale about a group of whale watchers, whose ship breaks down and they get picked up by a whale fisher vessel. The Fishbillies on the vessel has just gone bust, and everything goes out of control. The main part is played by Gunnar Hansen – legendary Leatherface from origin The Texas Chain Saw Massacre! Harpoon offered the promise of reviving the slasher subgenre with an original setting, but instead became the embodiment of filmmaking stupidity. ()
The country of origin and the setting on a whaling ship looked quite interesting and also unusual for horror. I quite looked forward to Harpoon, or rather, I was curious about it. Unfortunately, it turned out to be worse than expected. The problem is not with the direction, but rather with the script and the cast – maybe Júlíus Kemp should pick another team next time. I haven’t seen such an incredibly unlikeable and stupid bunch of characters in a long time. Those people looked for opportunities to get killed, while the killers took great pains to allow them to escape. I don’t recommend it, everything that is bad here has already been seen many times but well done. ()
