Fourteen-year-old Dani (Reese Witherspoon) and her older sister Maureen (Emily Warfield) have always shared everything. I won’t lie—I only watched this for Reese. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have bothered. And to be fair, it wouldn’t have been a huge loss if I’d skipped it. The film itself is your typical, middle-of-the-road romantic drama with a coming-of-age angle, but there’s nothing particularly special or memorable about it. That said, you can already see that Reese has serious talent, even behind those bubbly blonde roles she’s known for. ()
