Jubilant at having invented a new computer language, Lucas's reverie is cut short when he is informed that he has a terminal illness which is gradually eroding his memory. Distraught at this news, Marcel's life is unexpectedly brightened by the appearance of Blanche (Sophie Marceau), with whom he enjoys a romantic liaison. That it will not be a classic romance, I realized after about ten minutes, after thirty I knew it would be an unconventional experience. Amazing wordplay, challenging for subtitle creators and for the audience themselves, whether francophile or not. I am not an expert or critic, but it seemed to me partially surrealistic, a bit futuristic, and often like cut from an absurd drama. Long live Ionesco, beautiful camera, pleasant music, and Polish directors working with French actors!
