I thought this could be the perfect film for an open-air cinema. That’s the place where I lower my standards each year, catch up on the latest quirky Czech productions, enjoy the atmosphere, and most importantly, watch a film with an authentic audience. And it almost worked, but as is often the case in summer, rain threatened the screening. So, after the first fifteen minutes, I still had a positive impression. I saw a nice dynamic between Barbora Poláková and Lukáš Příkazký, and a pleasant return of Pavel Zedníček. But when I watched the rest at home, it all fell apart. As a whole, it doesn’t work, and it’s such a shame. The village sketches have neither a beginning nor an end, the children's adventures are completely emotionless, and it’s not cohesive. And yet it would have taken so little... it could have been a truly enjoyable summer experience. But as always, Czech cinema lacks quality dramaturgy. ()
The journey is the destination... A pleasant relaxing summer comedy for the whole family that cannot offend anyone. I saw Barbora Poláková and Lukáš Příkazký years ago in the theater in a very funny play and they really clicked together. That still holds true in a film context. ()
