English Solino progresses from comedy through tragicomedy to tragedy. It is convincingly written, superbly acted, and directed with emphasis on nostalgia. The tears trickling from the eye reminded me of Cinema Paradiso (after all, it’s as if the director is asserting his legacy with the inconspicuous inscription Cinema Nuovo right from the beginning). 85% ()
