Englisch I added a weak three-fifths mainly just for Allison Janney's acting. Well, the truth is that her faithful portrayal of Clint Eastwood earned the film each of my three stars, because otherwise, I can only praise the gloomy-damp-cold atmosphere. The screenwriters really botched their work, and if I may judge, they didn't come up with any original ideas (I actually expected that in a possible final showdown, Lou would limp heavily and pump a SPAS-12 shotgun with one uninjured hand). But seriously; there was not a single new idea here, so for me the plot was extremely transparent despite the visible effort for two twists. But when you expect exactly that kind of twist, is it still a twist? Here I am stepping into the territory reserved for skilled philosophers, and since I don't belong among them, I'd better back off again. Now that I've read it back, I realize that I can't justify that weak three to myself. In any case, it's true that Allison Janney was excellent, and I think she was wasted on a film like that. / Lesson: A life jacket is fine, but Kevlar is Kevlar. ()

Englisch This project probably wasn’t going to be groundbreaking. But despite everything, I hoped for a slightly better-executed experience. I liked the setting in the genuine American countryside; no repulsive CGI, so that's definitely a thumbs up. On the acting front, praise goes to Allison Janney, whose badass character kept the film at least within average territory. However, what I can’t forgive the film for is its storyline. At times, it tries to shock, but let’s be honest… It lacks any arsenal that could truly surprise. The plot is incredibly simplistic. And unfortunately, there’s no major catharsis at the end, so don’t count on that. At least it offers a decent contact fight halfway through, with plenty of blood and solid choreography. But even so, it's pretty disappointing. A forgettable one-off. For me, it’s 5/10. ()

Englisch A straightforward bit-action bit-thriller that doesn't want to be anything more, and that's what's likeable about it. The brilliant Allison Janney in the lead role quickly won me over and I believed everything she said; the script, with one surprising revelation, I suspected was an adaptation of a good book, but it's not, and that’s another good thing. And the atmosphere of the empty, rain-soaked forests is worth millions. ()
