Vombata are a type of prototype creature found in the Shadowlands origin realm Zereth Mortis. Gentle and kind, they originally approached the brokers who would become Enlightened.[1]
They are generally peaceful herbivores, but are capable of powerful headbutts in self defense. Several colors of vombata are obtainable as mounts by players, and encountered across the realm.

- Vombata are based on real-life wombats, with the name drawing from the name for the genus Vombatus.
- Just as wombat droppings are cube-shaped, vombata "manufacture" cubes.[2]
