The Pixel 9 series powered by the new Exynos 5400 Modem is good news for users as it will significantly improve efficiency and battery life

Google's Tensor-powered Pixel phones came with a weak spot, and it was its modem that had faced backlash previously due to poor signal strength, weak battery conservation, and slower data speeds. The Pixel 6 series faced maximum issues of weak connectivity. Although the company has been improving the efficiency of the models since then, with the new Pixel 9 series, users' wishes have finally been answered as the new lineup is equipped with Exynos Modem 5400, which the tech community has long been talking about.

Google announced this new change after it had the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus, also powered by Exynos, and is now bringing the upgrade to its Pixel 9 series. What makes the upgrade noteworthy is the satellite support extended in the Pixel 9 lineup due to the Exynos bringing the Release 17 connectivity.

The Exynos Modem 5400 is more efficient than the old modem Exynos 5300 by reducing latency issues and improving the overall battery life of the series. As a result, cellular connectivity will be massively improved from the previous version. The new modem brings peak downlink speeds that can go up to 14.79Gbps, and using the FR1 frequency band, the Pixel 9 series will deliver faster speeds.

Google has made some significant changes to the Pixel 9 lineup compared to its predecessor. The confirmation that the series is now powered by the new, more efficient modem marks another pivotal step in the more seamless experience of the Pixel devices as they continue to evolve.
