First, due to the weather, Cullen and Quinn were here for 3 days instead of their usual 2 - that always makes it exciting. Max brought them up Thursday night after he got off of work so I wouldn't have to try to drive to Liberty in the sleet and snow Friday. We were going to go cut our tree (we grow our own Charlie Brown Christmas Trees just for us - here at the farm) on Saturday but it was simply too cold. We decided to wait until after our trip to Uncle Brian's…

Most of you who follow my work know that I don't usually do small quilts. For instance this is Over the Meadow and its 82 x 98. At the moment its available as a McCalls Quilt Along;. If you want information on the quilt you can click here. While I love making bedsize quilts, lately I've really been taken with smaller quilts. This is the backside of a Table Stand quilt "Moonlight Serenade" and it's made of four 6" blocks. ( The front has a snowman, the birdhouse and bird.) And…

Time flies so quickly these days. And it doesn't slow down much even if I'm sitting at the computer reading blogs instead of posting :) And the end of another year also means the end of another Mystery Quilt. This one - the Miami Valley Album Quilt is is in France right now and the patterns will be in my book published by Quiltmania next spring. I didn't have time before it left but when it gets home I'll embroider names on the blocks - that will be…

What I really mean, of course, is that they are the longest-designing-designers on Moda's roster. As we celebrate Moda's 40 years in business, we thought it would be fun to acknowledge Sandy's and Jan's designing longevity and hear a bit about what it was like to be a Moda designer in the early days. So I hope they both forgive the "old" moniker!
