i'm writing this on the behalf of noor ashour, a mother of two trapped in gaza amidst israel's barbarism, for her son mohammad. mohammad is a disabled four-year-old child who struggles due to a lack of oxygen at his birth, but through his life, with the help of physiotherapy/physical therapy he had improved a lot.

but all that progress has been destroyed when gaza was attacked. back to square one, mohammad's condition is deteriorating severely, with physical therapy centers destroyed and medicine scarce (what little exists is crazy expensive), losing everything including hopes and dreams, noor ashour is begging to everyone that can help: to donate to her gfm to help her and her family get out of gaza to continue treatment for her son's disability and help them survive!

had a fascinating dream last night where there was a new, virally popular trading card game - it was called MOUNTAIN (stylised in all caps) and the whole gimmick was that you couldn’t buy boosters or anything - you had to find them?

nowhere sold MOUNTAIN - I mean, I expect players did, once cards were in their hands.

but acquiring cards meant noticing a box lying around, and just….nabbing it? they’d be in weird places - in a skip, wedged high up in a fence, nestled in the branches of a tree? nobody ever saw who left them there, and there was a lot of debate about how MOUNTAIN boxes were sometimes hard to acquire without risking one’s physical safety - but then, that was also bragging rights. especially as harder-to-reach boxes seemed to contain more elusive and sought after cards…

no, I don’t remember anything about the actual gameplay, we never played any MOUNTAIN. alas. I know there were “frame cards” that were literally transparent but for a fancy metallic or holographic border, which I guess upgraded the card they were applied to? frames were super rare, my coworker literally ran up to me in the pub purely to show off the frame he’d just found

my official stance is a pregnancy is whatever the pregnant person wants it to be. if it’s a 4 week old clump of cells and they want to call it a baby it’s a baby. if they're 20 weeks and they want to call it a parasite it’s a parasite. if they're 39 weeks and call it a fetus it’s a fetus. “why are you so sad about miscarrying at 6 weeks it was literally just an embryo” because that was their baby. “how can you get an abortion at three months” because that wasn’t a baby. hope that helps.
