Today is my professional anniversary, 14 months and 2 days in iGaming. Till this date, I am confused by not being able to connect with some leads - they simply not replying my nice messages. Why? I have few hypothesis: 1. They are busy playing: as iGaming industry is all about games, they might take advantage and have fun themselves 2. Their mom told them not to reply to strangers 3. They are stuck, lost or else in the woods. 4. They do not know, that my boss set some KPIs for me There may be more. You are welcome to add your hypothesis in comments. As a Salesperson at Slotegrator, I am meeting with many Startups and Successful Operators and having conversations. Developed In-house or Third Party? 👨‍💻 Hey LinkedIn! Wanted to share a thought on the pros and cons of using in-house developed software, as I increasingly see various companies preferring it in the early stages, especially in the iGaming industry. However, they may (and I emphasize may) encounter various problems later on. The main advantage I often hear is the so-called "independence" from the provider. However, based on experience, this independence can be quite elusive, expensive, labor-intensive, and simply unprofitable, which later on can lead to issues with scalability, inability to integrate with other third parties, poor latency, data integrity & security, and many more. Moreover, migrating at that stage might not be so simple... Wouldn't it be more advantageous to focus on the business aspects and entrust the technical part to a partner with a huge in-field expertise (like VeliTech, for example) 😅 ? Ever faced a media ambush? Here's how to turn the tables. As an ambassador for the iGaming industry, I often find myself in the crosshairs of provocative—sometimes downright hostile—interviews. But there's a way to give these challengers their Panem et Circenses while still coming out on top: 1. Let the interviewer use you.  Be an asset to the interviewer. Give them quotable material that is catchy enough to engage the readers. 2. Use the interviewer to your benefit. Prepare a bunch of sharp, quotable comebacks that support your point without undermining an interviewer or ridiculing the question itself. 3. Keep pushing your agenda. State your key value points, even if they are not directly related. Journalists may or may not use them right away, but what you repeat sticks. Prep work pays off, as always. So, if you have questions about iGaming, feel free to put them in the comments. I am always ready to be challenged, especially by sharp minds. Call it professional snobbery, if you will. It happens so often with off-page SEO. Decision-makers try so hard to be smart that they become inefficient. Here is the landscape: - Plenty of agencies around + quite an overlap for tricky GEOs and topics. - Exclusive deals are nearly impossible to get, as niche agencies work with 1000s publishers and up to 50 active clients. As an operator/affiliate, you might think:   1. Let's hire juniors to manage the agencies.  2. Let's create a master db to compare the deals. It seems logical. Yet it leads to problems. Why? 1. The cheapest sites your team will select won't be reconfirmed. It will take ages to get your article live. The agency will ask for a higher price. Expect a cancellation rate of 50%. You won't think it's fun.   2. "Unique" sites your team will select with slighly pricier agencies will turn out to be unavailable. It'll take you 2 weeks to realise. The agencies will get bad cred, even though you haven't even tried them for any of the other sites, as they charge $5 more and don't make it through your fancy filter. 3. Your team is not enough into it to know who is the "real deal". Delayed process. Dodgy agencies will try to negotiate down the price for weeks with vendors. Your Dear Sir SEO "guru" will suck at topic ideation, anchors etc. To be frank, most likely your team won't be great at it either. 4. Managers need to prove their importance. All the monkey business above will make them - and you - think that you bring value. Do they? Fair agencies earn 8-15% EBITDA. Is running your team worth it? 5. Marketplaces. Your team will give them a try and end up with unused credits, annoying salespeople, and spammy articles everyone else out there has. You're entering a red-light district area of off-page SEO here. Treat your project with love! 6. Trust. For agencies, it's all about transparency. They won't share the best deals with juniors. God knows where they will be next week. Lists will follow & end up in competitors' hands. Maybe they will reach out to publishers directly. This can be tracked in Ahrefs or Majestic, yet they won't care. Off-page guys get a lot of hate & disrespect. Yet, to succeed you still need your off-page SEO done right. (Not talking about articles about burgers, UFOs & beers now) What's the solution? - Select 2-3 niche agencies. Show that you care. Create competition, obtain freedom + protect yourself from corrupt managers - Let your team do the QA. Focus on strategy + own complementary outreach Select partners well. Trust, transparency, respect With off-page SEO there's always value out there. Yet, it's impossible to hide it from the competitors. Perfect example of a service where you can't do it all in-house. It's all about finding the right partners. Yet so few out there are good at it. The message we often get is: "We do it all in-house". Even when we know that's not the case, or when we have grounds to believe that a manager works with one agency only & has some sort of private interest in it.

RECAP - ONE YEAR WITH ONE OF THE LARGEST AFFILIATE PROGRAMS IN iGAMING 🚀 Looking back on the past year in one of the biggest affiliate programs in iGaming Royal Partners - affiliate program, it feels like time just flew by. Still, I can't help but feel proud of the impact my work had on the company's presence. 🔸 We were shortlisted more than 15 times for various iGaming Awards, a significant jump from previous years (x3). 🔸 We set some new trends in the industry. For example, ahead of each conference, we created guides packed with useful tips for travelers heading to unfamiliar countries, covering everything from cell service to transportation and currency. Sharing these guides with our audience two weeks before the conference became a hit, inspiring many of our competitors to do the same. 🔸 Our social media channels saw remarkable growth, with each audience expanding by over 150%, all through organic traffic—no paid advertising involved. How did we do it? By tailoring our content to meet our audience's needs, tweaking designs, and striking the right balance between entertainment and informative posts. Collaborations with industry peers and a few cross-promotions also helped. 🔸 We also made strides in boosting brand awareness by elevating the personal brands of our team members across various social media platforms. What started with just 4 Royal Partners team members building their personal brands has now grown to over 20 unique individuals representing our team with professionalism across all channels. The hardest was to inspire them to actually show the world their hidden talents! These are the main highlights I can share, as some details are under NDA. And of course, none of this would have been possible without the incredible teamwork! P.S. The company won the SiGMA Award for the Best Workplace 2024, so no surprise the team feels comfortable to step outside of comfortable zone.

Couple of weeks ago, eJobs Romania launched #Score2Skill, a campaign in which, my company, Good Game Industry, was involved together with The Geeks Bucharest team (Ioana, Laura & co), Dan Petre, Angela Rosu and many other talented people. All of us working with and for gamers know that gaming has a lot of benefits. We say that in every interview, in every meeting, at any event, but how to really make them count, to make them as truly benefits in our lives. #Score2Skill was a project that started more than one year ago with an idea that I embraced from the very beginning: what if we transform the gaming skills into job skills that eventually the gamers can use in their CVs. It took us several meetings, focus groups and interviews with gamers of all kinds (casual, pro, influencers) to come up with the final algorithm. Looking into the upper funnel opportunities can drive great performance. Always try to be where your competitor's aren't and spot the gaps. Focusing only on lower funnel is not necessarily a one size fits all solution / strategy. Think outside the box...

I was at a conference yesterday and someone in the igaming niche shared the below quote: "Links are the number 1 ranking factor in competitive verticals and the main way to differentiate yourself. In the casino niche players are spending 2 million plus a month on link building". Stake SEO lead. I believe it's in reference to multiple sites this casino group owned, accross multiple markets (English & Foreign Language). It gives you an idea of the scale of activity in some of these competitive niches. Whats the biggest SEO year budget you have heard of?? #SEO
