Blue yarn bowl. Handmade ceramic yarn bowl. Yarn and string organizer. Large handmade stoneware bowl for keeping knots out of yarn. This lovely bowl is great for anyone who knits or crochets. Whether you are an avid string artist or a hobbyist, this bowl is a must to keep knots from taking over your life! This bowl is 3.5" high and 7" wide. This bowl's glaze gives it a dark blue color with an orange peel effect that is organic and will compliment many color schemes. From wool to acrylic, neon to cream, any yarn looks lovely in this handmade bowl. I handmade this bowl from stoneware clay on a potters wheel. After it dries to leather hard I hand carve the slots and holes for the yarn and needles. I then decorate the pot for the first time with slip (a mixture of wet clay and colorant) After it dries fully, I place in the kiln and fire for the first time to 1700 degrees. When that kiln firing has cooled enough for handling, I unload and glaze the pieces for a second time and fire again to around 2100 degrees.
