there's basically no character growth. the dialogue is taken directly from whatever goes into the worst written romance novels. and the characters themselves react in the least realistic ways to every little thing. I found myself dragging my eyes through the book so that I could say I had read it, but being entirely unwilling to actually finish it. tripe.

“A Court of Mist and Fury” is the second book in the ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ series by Sarah J. Maas, and it greatly expands on the world introduced in the first installment, offering a rich plot, character development, and exciting moments. The 4-star rating highlights its vast improvement over the first book, although there are some aspects that may not appeal to everyone.

such a huge step up from thorns and roses! I REALLY enjoyed this read and I felt it gave some explanation as to why I disliked the first. the characters were great and felt more fleshed out than most side characters I've read before and their dynamics between each other are nice too. I'm huge fan of the found family dynamic
