Three Cowboys and a Bride

Max and Phoebe are so sweet together! Disclosure: I'm a sucker for marriage-at-first-sight stories, and this one is one of the best. At a bar in Reno, Phoebe chooses Max to be her in-name-only solution to getting around her family's control over her money, then they each quietly go back to their own lives. Four years later, she shows up needing a little bit more to make the solution work, and Max has to face his friends who had no idea he'd been hiding a secret wife all this time. I loved how they each helped the other deal with their complicated family situations, and how they grew closer together with each awkward and sometimes heartbreaking obstacle. I've been intrigued by Max's character throughout the earlier two books in this series, and it was very gratifying to get his whole story, especially delivered with my favorite trope. I wish we'd been given a bit more details about Phoebe's family situation - I felt like we were told only enough to make the story work without really feeling like we got the whole story. That coupled with the author's lack of understanding of the real-life location in which the story was set kept this book from being a five-star read for me. However, the romance between Max and Phoebe was everything I could have wanted and their HEA was delightful. This book ends with a two-year-later epilogue that nicely wraps up the entire three-book series, and I heartily recommend all three books for anyone who loves contemporary cowboy romances. Three Cowboys and a Bride is the third and final book in Kate Pearce's Three Cowboys series. You can read it as a standalone but you'll probably enjoy it more if you've read the other books first. There's a lot of history and backstory for the three cowboys and it's been delightful seeing them all get their HEAs. I've enjoyed reading this series very much and I'm sorry to see it end. 've been following Kate's cowboy romances for several years now and I hope that this won't be the last of them.

Max and Phoebe's book rounded out this series quite nicely. Their story has many elements that come together creating an entertaining read. Though married for four years they are strangers, nonetheless. Navigating miscommunications, self-doubt, fears and emotions, they grow as individuals and partners as bringing out the best in each other. The story is sexy, sweet, with lots of heat. Love, loyalty, and the support of family and friends create a heartwarming series.
