My 9 year old daughter loves this device and while we were worried she would forget to charge it, we did not have that problem a single day. Parental controls for school mode and adding contacts are helpful, but the communications function is most helpful. The interface is intuitive and within the first hour of use, she had no trouble sending us text and voice messages. The only complaint we have is the requirement for Gmail to add new contacts. All her friends have apple watches and no Gmail.

The Fitbit ACE has been a fantastic alternative for my 11 yr old, since we feel she's too young for a cellphone and still want a way for her to communicate with trusted contacts. She enjoys the quests and games. It's a fun way to keep kids active via the watch. The app is easy to use. I would like the ability to add contacts who don't have an email . There have been a few times the lte didn't work. Otherwise, it's a solid option!! I look forward to seeing how they expand the functionality.

Bought this for my daughter, and she loves her watch! When she first got the watch, she was constantly playing with it, and I was worried she was going to get too addicted. After 2 days, the novelty wore off, and she now looks at the watch casually when she has alerts or doing quests. Fitbit did a great job with daily quests (walking up 20 flights of stairs, taking 7000 steps, mediating for 5 minutes, watching the supermoon, etc), b/c my daughter wants to complete them. It's been great!
