Mostly love this app. It has taken so much time-consuming manual work off our plates (chasing down RSVPs, sending out reminder emails, etc.). To get 5 stars, I need the messages to send notifications to people's phones. I've asked for help and was told that notification settings depend on the person's choices, but we've sat next to each other and sent messages after confirming notifications are on... no notifications, so we're back to texting.

Hi LeAndra, I can see that you reached out once and we advised you to have your club members check their notifications settings and then let us know if you were still having issues, but we didn't get another email back from you. We'll reach out again to see if we can troubleshoot why notifications still aren't working as expected for your club!

I want it to work so very badly for my little book club. But try as I might I can't get everyone to use it because it isn't the best designed UI in the first place, but worse, it acts wonky a lot. People can't log in, people don't get notifications as per settings, messages are posted out of order, a member just posted a message as herself and the app says it was posted by anonymous. I'm so sad it doesn't work.

Hi Amy, I'm really sorry to hear that your club had issues with the app. We are currently experiencing a delay in notifications for some users that we are working on fixes. Would you be able to email help@bookclubs.com so we can look into the issue with a member's message saying it was posted by anonymous?

We've used this for about a year and there are many convenient features. Love the polling function and glad we can now add our own summaries. Biggest problem is that messages don't go to everyone by default, you have to click a checkbox. That has tripped us up a few times as members don't realize.
