Traditional “low” Initiatives: Creative Team Building
Our Traditional Initiatives are designed to engage any group in creative activities that are both fun and challenging, yet accessible for all fitness levels. Set low to the ground, these activities focus on enhancing communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking. Ideal for teams looking to strengthen their collaborative skills in a supportive environment, these initiatives ensure every participant can contribute and feel included. Can be half or full day. The group minimum is 6 people.
- Duration: Half Day (either 9 am – 12:30 pm or 1 – 5 pm).
- Group size: 6+
- Add-on our 1,000 foot “Take Off” zip line for an additional cost.
- Lunch can be added.
GPS Adventure Challenge: Team Building with Technology
Our GPS Adventure Challenge combines adventure, technology, and team building into a unique and exciting group experience. Based on the recreational sport called “geocaching”, teams will learn how to use GPS devices in conjunction with traditional map reading to get from point to point. This team building option can be more competitive than traditional team building as smaller groups set out to get as many points as possible. This can be a fun way to build camaraderie between teams. At each location, teams must complete initiatives before advancing to the next point. Teams must plan their navigation strategy, so right off the bat, your group will have to solve problems, communicate, and work together.
- Duration: Can be half or full day.
- Group size: 8+ for one team or 14+ for at least two teams.
- Lunch is included in the full-day option or can be added to the half-day option.
High Ropes Courses: Thrill-Driven Team Building
For teams that thrive on adrenaline and are looking to be pushed both physically and mentally, our High Ropes Courses offer the perfect challenge. These activities are set high above the ground and involve navigating complex aerial obstacles that require courage, coordination, and teamwork. The high ropes experience is ideal for developing trust, enhancing decision-making under pressure, and boosting self-confidence, all within the safety of our expertly designed courses. Options below.
Full-Day Team Building: Combination of Traditional Low & High elements.
The full-day team build begins with a half day of "traditional low" elements that will have your group energized and in sync. Lunch will be provided around 12:30 and then your group will head back out on the course for “traditional high” elements which include classic initiatives like the pamper pole, catwalk, and Jacob’s ladder. Conquering these elements will bolster trust among the group as well as self-confidence. We believe in “challenge by choice” and celebrate accomplishments, no matter how small. Participants may choose a supporting role if they are uncomfortable with heights.
- Duration: Full Day (9 am –5 pm).
- Group size: 6+
- Lunch is provided.
Adventures in High Elements: Building camaraderie on the Adventure Park.
Choose between our Crazy Squirrel Aerial Challenge Course (Tier 1, Tier 2, or Combo) or Terminator Corner.
- Duration: Half Day (either 9 am – 12:30 pm or 1 – 5 pm).
- Group size: 10+
- Lunch can be added.
Team Building Plus: The best of team building and adventure!
This option combines your choice of either half-day traditional low elements or GPS Adventure Course with our Level 4: Extreme Zip Line Canopy Tour after lunch.
- Duration: Full Day (9 am - 5 pm).
- Group size: 6+
- Lunch is provided.
Add-On Options: To further customize your day!
Terminator Corner: This is the ultimate in high element adventures. Conquer 12 extreme challenge elements, up to 80 feet off the ground! Try the swinging plans, the Tarzan Slide, Loop the Loops and more, all without touching the ground. Terminator Corner is physically challenging, and safety is emphasized.
Power Free Fall: Climb 100 feet up our adventure tour… and take a step off! Sounds simple right?! This is the ultimate leap of faith! Historic Banning Mills is home to the only 100-foot free fall on the East Coast. The Power Free Fall is NOT a bungee jump, but a controlled fall that is very safe. The device allows you to descend at almost full velocity before smoothly letting you land firmly on your feet.
Climbing Wall: Guinness certified as the tallest free-standing climbing wall in the world! At 14 stories high, our wall includes nine climbing lanes, two rappel walls (up to 95 ft. high), and four overhangs (including a traversing overhang and chimney). Whether you are a beginner or an expert, our unique and dynamic routes are enjoyed by all. And, as you climb your way to the top, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Snake Creek Gorge!

Please note that we require a 14-day cancellation notice. If a reserved event is canceled less than 14 days before the scheduled trek, 50% of the total charge will be assessed to the credit card on file. No shows will be charged the full amount of the event. If you must move the date and it is less than the 14-day period before your reserved date, a $250 transfer fee will be applied to move to another date.

A fun way to boost your group’s productivity. Hosted by the Lodges at Historic Banning Mills, a historic conservancy preservation nestled in the hills of South West Atlanta. From traditional courses, GPS treks, and extreme treks, we have what your group needs to grow and thrive in and out of the workplace!
We want your stay at Historic Banning Mills to be as enjoyable as you could possibly imagine. We are situated in historic Snake Creek Gorge. When you visit Historic Banning Mills you can expect to be greeted by a serene natural environment. While we offer modern amenities, being in a gorge presents challenges for modern conveniences like high speed WIFI while you are out enjoying the natural environment of Historic Banning Mills. You will have WIFI service in certain areas around the property, but it is not high speed. We do have high speed WIFI available at the main lodge with dedicated WIFI in our meeting spaces for our corporate guests.
