Corn, also known as maize, is a crop that appears in various forms throughout the wastelands.
Background[]
Corn and maize are consumable items, grown across the former United States. The plant grows into a tall, leafy stalk, producing ears of corn that can be harvested and used as food or used to craft items such as vegetable starch.
Corn is grown commonly across the wastelands, such as throughout New California.[1] Locations such as the Hub have successfully established large fields of corn. Farmers in the Mojave Wasteland are able to grow maize despite the desert environment and Freeside residents mention corn as part of their diets.[2][3]
Varieties[]
Corn[]
A regular type of corn found in Mojave Wasteland, Appalachia, the Commonwealth, and surrounding regions. It is an excellent source of nutrients as well as an easy-to-grow crop. Past its use as sustenance, surplus corn can be refined into biodiesel.[4]
Wild corn[]
A wild variant of corn.
Fresh corn[]
A fresh variant of corn.
