In the case of this tendinopathy, the tendon of the muscle called the 'extensor carpi ulnaris' is affected. Often the tendon is inflamed through overuse. The symptoms are located on the top of the wrist, at the base of the little finger.

These are the muscles of the forearm. The flexor carpi radialis, flexor carpi ulnaris, and palamaris longus all work to create wrist flexion. All the flexors work on flexion of different phalanges. All of the extensors (except for the extensor carpi digitorum) are all involved with wrist extension. The exstensor carpi digitorum extends the phalanges.
