Infobox concert question

Hello Rm w a vu, I have a question regarding the “number of shows” parameter on Template:Infobox concert, I’ve noticed for several years now a lot of users have divided the number of shows per continent visited on the tour (Example: 12 in North America, 3 in Europe, 5 in Asia, 20 in Total) but I was checking out the description for it and it says “the total number of shows on the entire tour.” And I know some users only follow that by putting the total number (Example: 20) but my question is would you consider being on board with dividing the number of shows by continent? Obviously the total number will also be shown. And since a lot of users follow with dividing them up into continents I figured I’d reach out and ask if this would be something you would approve of since I noticed you created the template. I do believe the template should allow it to be divided into continents just because it looks appropriate enough and it saves time from going through the dates parameter and counting how many shows were performed at that certain continent.

Hope to hear back from you,

Hey, I see nothing controversial about using the infobox to be as specific and clear as possible. I urge restraint and caution in overcomplicating it, but I don't think your proposal does, and also careful planning in making an alternative parameter in order to accommodate the nuances to which you're referring. In all honesty, I don't think I've touched the infobox in maybe 10 years, so I by no means consider myself its owner. - rm w a vu
