Union of Russia and Belarus (Союз России и Беларуси) is a supra-national entity which is a union of Russia and Belarus.

The Union is formed on April 2 1996 under the name Community of Russia and Belarus. The Community was tightened, and its name changed, in April 3 1997. Further strengthening of the Union occurred on December 25 1998. In 1999, then Federal Republic of Yugoslavia joined the Union as observing member.

The Union maintains full sovereignity of its member states, similarly to the European Union. It seeks to harmonise politics and economy of the members, in particular by harmonising taxes, tariffs and monetary system.
