::::Then why do you say "formerly called Azad Jammu and Kashmir." it should be: "also called Azad Jammu and Kashmir." Fawwad

The name of this area is "Azad Jammu and Kashmir," its on the government's website. It was never changed to Azad Kashmir; it's just called that for short.

Even though its called Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Pakistan officially, CIA calls this region as Azad Kashmir due to a basic reason: the region of Jammu is under Indian control and not under Pakistani control. --{{IncMan|talk}} 15:43, 4 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
The government of "Azad Jammu and Kashmir" has given itself that name. Who is the CIA to judge whether its write or wrong. What should matter is what the people of free Kashmir call their country!!! Neha Khan
