Zusammenfassung
Die Existenz leichtflüchtiger Atom- oder Molekelgitter, die Isolatoren sind, die Existenz von Ionengittern, die ebenfalls Isolatoren sind, und die Existenz von Metallen ist leicht zu verstehen. Die Möglichkeit schwerflüchtiger nichtleitender Atomgitter (Diamant) bedarf besonderer Untersuchung. Diese ergibt die Möglichkeit dann, wenn die Bedingung erfüllt ist: Zahl der Valenzelektronen pro Atom=Zahl der Nachbarn=Zahl der Eigenfunktionen pro Atom (Entartungsgrad).
