Today we are introducing Anders Jørgensen, Lead Application Architect at Phase One. Read how his typical day looks like and which exciting projects he has worked on. Anders, tell us shortly about yourself and your role as a Lead Application Architect at Phase One.   I hold degrees in Electronic Engineering and Advanced Computer Studies. I have been with Phase One for ten years working on various projects like camera firmware, production software, test automation, business intelligence, software development and calibration. In my current role, I balance designing software solutions with hands-on development. Can you share some of the projects you have been involved in as a Lead Application Architect? I have been involved in our multispectral imaging software (Rainbow MSI) and an internal software for geometric camera calibration. Recently, I have taken ownership of renewing our software for sensor calibration, ensuring our 30-year legacy of high-quality imaging output. Working on the multispectral project has been an interesting journey since the initial skunk works. It involves device control, sequence automation, UI, image processing and a deep dive into the physics and chemistry of light, color and materials.  This system and software enable applications like art conservation, forensic science, and extracting hidden text from damaged books and manuscripts. Collaborating with colleagues on this project has been rewarding, as we have developed a technical solution that can uncover rich stories from historical sources. What are some common challenges you face as a Lead Application Architect, and how do you overcome them?   Some of the biggest challenges are in getting specifications and designs right, especially for user interaction and workflows. There are often unspoken assumptions and expectations when requesting a feature. While hardware interfaces are more straightforward, UI design requires a higher degree of conceptualization and improvement. What's something unexpected or surprising about you that your colleagues might not know?   In my free time, I'm passionate about music and have a vinyl collection of over 2000 records. We also play music as a family. These days, most of my spare time is dedicated to my daughters, home, and garden. However, I have recently taken up running again. Additionally, I have a basement full of hobby projects, including analog synthesizer and retro computing restoration. #PhaseOne #career

Frederik, tell us shortly about yourself and what fascinates you about the drone industry?   You know how they say time flies? Well, I can confirm it—especially when you're flying drones! What fascinates me most about the drone industry is the speed at which it’s evolving. It's like being on a rollercoaster that’s constantly being upgraded to go faster and push the boundaries further. Every day brings a new challenge, a new innovation, and a new way to see the world from a different perspective. That is why i enjoy my possition as Application specialist at Phase One   What upcoming projects or collaborations are you most excited about?   I'm thrilled to share that our team is gearing up for what might just be the world’s largest sub-millimeter GSD dataset as this years passion project. Yes, you read that right! We’re going sub-millimeter—because who needs millimeters when you can go smaller? Stay tuned, because this is going to be a cool dataset IF we succeed! Also working a lot with our newest P5 camera and the Quantum drone is really cool   How is Phase One keeping up with the latest trends and regulations in the drone industry?   Keeping up with the drone industry trends is like a dance—fast-paced, dynamic, and always changing. We’re all in, attending every drone show we can (catch me at CUAV in Vegas!) and working closely with customers on-site to really understand their needs. There’s nothing like getting out there and getting our our propellers spinning.   What do you enjoy outside of work?   When I’m not immersed in the world of drones, you can find me 3D printing, building (more) drones, or tearing up the racecourse with some drone racing. And when I need a break from all things tech, I hop on my bike and hit the road to clear my head. Nothing like some fresh air and a good ride to reboot the system!
