The Wargaming Vilnius Running Club kicked off the back-to-school season this month by participating in "The Color Run," a fun 5-kilometer event aimed at bringing people together and promoting happiness and health. At each kilometer mark, the team were covered in rainbow coloured powders and along the course, they encountered exciting surprises like foam zones, music stations, and more. The excitement around the event even inspired one of our colleagues from the Belgrade office to join the Vilnius crew and fellow running enthusiasts in rising above! They all started the race in white t-shirts and crossed the finish line colorful and smiling, just as the event intended. Check out the photos from the event to catch the positive vibe. 😄

In the latest WGStories, we meet Santiago Busquets, Creative Lead at Wargaming Berlin.    Having left advertising to climb his way back up the career ladder to leadership in gaming, Santiago knows all about rising above and following your calling. Santiago moved to Germany about six years ago from his native Brazil, where he was already an Art Director.    The different industry landscape allowed him to discover a new path and pursue his true passion, even if it meant taking a few steps back. After joining Wargaming as a Graphic Artist, he enthusiastically worked his way up first to Art Lead, and then to his current position.   For Santiago, being able to say "I'm in the right job and doing the right thing" is priceless to him.   He also acknowledges the roles of his many passionate and interesting colleagues, whose camaraderie and nurturing of trust make Wargaming such a positive environment for career development.   To anyone who wants to chase their dream role or industry, Santiago says, "It is never too late. You will come up with dozens if not hundreds of rejections, but you only need one 'yes' to pivot your life."

This time, our #WGStories features Sergey Shpakovskiy, QA Director at Wargaming Nicosia. A keen scale modeler in his spare time, he contributes his artistry and attention to detail to the success of the company's products and the development of his team.  Sergey has been at the company for 14 years, eight of which in leadership positions. Known at Wargaming as The Fighter, he is a prime example of a passion igniter, translating his personal love for gaming and his skill at assembling model mid-20th-century armored vehicles (see the photos below) into abundant creativity and excitement at work. Sergey will never forget one of the game servers reaching 100,000 players, and then 1 million—monumental occasions that are a testament to the passion of Wargaming employees like himself.  When Sergey joined Wargaming, the company was small. Since then, he has seen the culture evolve greatly. While he had to figure things out on his own, today's newcomers can depend on a well-organized system and ready support from experienced colleagues. His advice to himself as a newcomer would be to do what he thought was right, and to dig deeper and see the bigger picture.   As for those starting their journey now, Sergey offers the following advice:   🔸 "Patience and perseverance are bountifully rewarded. In a heartfelt initiative led by Sergii Shumygora , Executive Director of the Kyiv #Wargaming office, and Vadym Popenko, Lead CG artist, Wargaming Kyiv has launched an inspiring 3D modeling course specifically designed for children with parents serving in the armed forces. Sergii, with his deep roots in educational programs, alongside Vadym, an experienced 3D modeling instructor, created a tailored curriculum that has brought the ideas of young talents aged 12 to 16 to life! The overwhelming success of the program, evidenced by the students’ enthusiastic participation, culminated in a collective project where each student contributed to creating a medieval-themed 3D island, showcasing not only their new skills but also their ability to collaborate and innovate.
