‘Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered’ Coming December 10 [Trailer]

After having the cat let out of the bag at SDCC earlier this year (and even earlier today), Aspyr has revealed that they’re working on Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered for PlayStation and PC via Steam, which debuted during the State of Play today. Best of all, the collection will be coming December 10 to coincide with Soul Reaver’s 25th anniversary.

The games included are remasters of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2, which were developed by Crystal Dynamics for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 respectively. 2002‘s Blood Omen 2 and 2003’s Legacy of Kain: Defiance are not included in this collection. Crystal Dynamics is currently owned by Embracer Group, which bought the developer and the rights to the Legacy of Kain series from Square Enix a few years ago.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver originally launched in 1999 for the PlayStation and PC, while its sequel, Soul Reaver 2, was released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2 and PC. The last entry in the series, , was released for the PlayStation 2, the original Xbox, and PC.

Sadly, the one that started it all back in 1996, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, is still MIA. Rights issues are still messy for this one, so it might be a long time before we get to see anything in terms of a remaster or remake. You can, however, play it later this year as part of the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog, alongside Dino Crisis.

Dark Soulslike ‘Hell is Us’ Unleashes New Gameplay Trailer [Watch]

Rogue Factor and publisher Nacon continue to prep to unleash hell on earth with a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming open world Soulslike, Hell is Us. The latest gameplay trailer made its debut earlier during the Sony State of Play.

As the team has mentioned before, Hell is Us will have players following their instincts to progress on their journey. There will be no map, no compass, and no quest markers. “Instead, we invite you to dive directly into the game’s universe and rely on your own observation, reasoning, and intuition to progress,” says Rogue Factor’s Jonathan Jacques-Belletete via PlayStation Blog. “The environments are not there simply to decorate, they are there to communicate. Correspondingly, paying attention to what the NPCs tell you is crucial; as what they tell you is actual organic information about what to do and how to do it.”

Hell is Us centres on a country being torn apart by civil war. A mysterious event has taken place that sees the arrival of supernatural creatures that no modern weapon can defeat. Armed with a drone and sword, it’s up to you to battle these mysterious creatures and discover how they arrived in your time.

Originally scheduled for a 2023 release, Hell is Us is currently in development for release later this year for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
