How to Play Truth or Drink
As with many drinking games, there are a few acceptable ways to play. However, all games require at least two players. You'll also need to be prepared with a bunch of questions, whether you buy a set, visit your favorite publication for inspiration (hi!), or use your imagination to dream up Qs on the spot.
To start, decide if you want players to take turns asking questions or designate one player to ask all of the questions. Go around the circle asking and answering the questions; whoever refuses to respond must drink. You can have players sip whatever they have on hand or drink something bigger.
Helpful Tips
- Make sure everyone is of age and able to play. You don't want anyone to feel left out of a group game!
- Keep it casual. If you can tell someone is uncomfortable answering a question and that they've maybe had too much to drink, don't force the rules on them. After all, no one likes a stickler in a social setting—and it's just a game!
- Stick to low-alcohol options. That's especially true if you want the game to go on for a while. If you take a shot each time you want to avoid answering, you probably won't last very long into the night.
- The more people, the more fun. While it's certainly possible to play as a duo, more players will only add to the hype. Besides, the more people, the more stories you get out of the game.
