Superb game
Been a gamer for some 40 years and once in awhile there comes a game that shines, and this one truly does.My daughter started with Astro Gamer as a 4-year old and now at age 5 the Astro Bot is the perfect game for her for many reasons. The game is very beautiful, there is a lot to do and explore, it is at times quite funny, the controls are intuitive even for a 4-5 year old child (my 3-yr old son is still too young to handle the controls). She is having a blast with it and help her out from time to time and sometimes it’s difficult to give back the controller to her.However, think the main benefit of this game, apart from giving us something fun to do together, is that it clearly improves her problem solving skills and hand eye coordination. Astro Bot is more difficult than Astro Gamer, so a 4 year old should prolly start with the latter, and once he/she masters that move on to Astro Bot.It is impressive to see how she develops playing the game. She has already solved some problems that I could not lol

I've been hoping and waiting for the release of a new Astro Bot game ever since finishing the Astros Play Room demo. This game DOES NOT disappoint. It offers TONS of levels! The absolutely best thing about this game is that it's easy to play, not too easy where you'll loose interest immediately and not too difficult where you'll spend 40 minutes trying to beat one level. It's the perfect balance of fun, story line, graphics, game play and replay value.

Don't think, just buy it asap!

The headline alone should be enough to express how much joy and fun I had with this game. But I can try to go a bit deeper.
For starters, a lot of reviews will talk about nostalgia or the many, MANY, cameos throughout the game. But in my personal experience with owning playstation consoles, I didn't have a large pool represented in the game. I played Sly, Ratchet, Spyro, Crash, Uncharted, and that's really about it. So for most of them, they just came off as "that's neat. (Granted the stuff they did with Uncharted did leave me with the biggest grin on my face).
So onto the gameplay itself, it's phenomenal. Astro's conrtols are tight. Levels are well paced and fun to explore. The power ups bring fun variety. The challenges are... challenging. Graphics are incredible. The character designs are adorable. And it's one of the few games I played where I want to replay it immediately after beating it.
This game is a must own for every PS5 owner and platforming fan.

A great for all ages type platforming game! It has Astro Bot and other bots that resemble other popular PlayStation game characters. Like Crash Bandicoot, God of War, and others.
It is really fun and a joy to play!
Each level can sometimes have different power up's, themes, and offers unique experiences.
It reminds me somewhat of Mario Galaxy with many levels having unique gameplay powerups and themes.
The music is also great and very catchy!
The graphics look awesome and some aspects take advantage of the PS5 controller.
It is not especially difficult overall, but there are some more challenging and difficult levels the further you go in the game.
The characters and animations are really well done. Some of the game aspects are really cute and charming.
I highly recommend it if you like Mario Galaxy type games, Ratchet & clank type games, games like the PS5 free pack in game Astro’s Playroom, or other games!
10/10 (with 10 being the best) rating from me! It is a great game!

Astro Bot can can be seen as successor to Astro's Playroom but where as Astro's Playroom is more like creative tech demo, Astro Bot is 100% a game. That will feel obvious early on. The levels are highly creative as a 3D platformer and somehow stays fresh throughout the game which is saying something. Just when you think you've seen it all, the game throws something new at you or reintroduce something you had before mechanically but with a different way of using it for that level.

I'm not kidding when I say they've somehow came up with a lot more creative ways to use the DualSense controller than even in Astro's Playroom. It's quite cool and enjoyable throughout and manages to not get old.

A bunch of characters you will be familiar with in other franchises, some 1st party, some third party associated with PlayStation in some ways show up in this and help out. But like a said, this is a game. It has it's own combat, puzzles, boss fights and overall story too. Game will bring a smile to all who play it. It's a game for everyone(i'm grown, I bought it for myself lol) but I personally feel like a game like this would make the perfect Christmas gift(or Birthday present) for your kids along with getting them a PS5 if they don't have one. This is the kind of game that will bring a smile to their faces as they play it as they see all the characters and interact with them and the levels the game has. The game is worth every penny it is asking for.
