I bake this in the oven and it turns out great. Anyone complaining should try an actual oven to discover what you’re missing! I have not experienced any problems whatsoever. When compared to other brands, Marie Callender’s offers the best value! Delicious food that I’m proud to eat and enjoy! Keep up the good work!! Recommended: Yes

Ever since I first tried this Country Fried Chicken and Gravy, I have been a constant fan. My neighbor laughs at me because I never get tired of it. I absolutely love the seasonings and especially the pepper. Love everything about it. Please don't change it!

        worst frozen dinner ever
Reviewed on September 16, 2022 by patricia on mariecallendersmeals.com
I had the country fried steak dinner last night. I have had this many time before. Over time this has become increasingly worse. When the put the gravy in the little packet, it was really good. Good size fried chicken pattie, plenty of mashed potatoes & corn, Then it was down sized, no more gravy in the little packet, just poured over the chicken & mashed potatoes very sparsely. But, still it wasn't bad. But this dinner last night was inedible. Chicken pattie had been downsized to almost needing a magnifying glass to see it. Potatoes was barely a tablespoon of & corn was old tasting & very hard. Gravy was non-existent. A big disappointment to say the least. Will never ever buy again. I can see a price increase because of the cost of things but to sacrifice quality & portions is unacceptable. To bad because Marie Callenders has always had a good product. Up until recently. Npw they are mediocre at best. If they keep selling this kind of inedible product, they won't & shouldn't be in business much longer

New taste of corn is terrible.

We used to buy a lot of this dinner, but the new flavor added to the corn is terrible.

It used to be wonderful but the new corn flavoring is not enjoyable. Also the coating on the chicken now seems weak and watery and the meal has lost its fried chicken aroma. What happened?

I was expecting this to be good, but it was outstanding. I couldn't be any more thrilled with just how delicious it was. The flavor and serving size were perfect for me. I cooked mine partly in the microwave and finished it on the oven. The chicken was reasonably tender, but I'm sure cooking it exclusively in the oven would result in increased tenderness. This is going to be my new go-to TV dinner.

        Excellent for frozen
Reviewed on August 11, 2022 by ndarch on mariecallendersmeals.com
Impressed that the potatoes and gravy are separated by the chicken instead of being all mixed up. Corn was very good, and maybe the best of the meal. But the other parts also tasted great.

        Corn

Corn was too ripe and tough. Tasted like field corn rather than sweet corn. Quality of the corn is a problem with other MC dinners.

        change is not for better
Reviewed on April 5, 2012 by cynthea on mariecallendersmeals.com
I agree that the corn on the cob was the best!! It was absolutely delish, always looked forward to it. I also liked that the gravy was separate! I would take the meat out and put in oven to get crisp! absolutely fantastic when both this dinner and the other chicken fried steak? put in oven to cook then I microwaved the rest and put the gravy in hot water from my hot water dispenser to heat up. I hate soggy fried anything cooked in the microwave. The changes have made this go from 5 star down to 1 or2! Bring back the original! We can tell the difference!

I don't know if I was just really hungry. But this TV dinner was good to me. I added butter to the potatoes and a little salt and pepper and I could cut the chicken with a fork. It was so tender.

Reviewed on November 30, 2023 by Blutarski on mariecallendersmeals.com
This is my favorite of the Marie Callender's meals and I usually keep a couple in my freezer for the times when I don't feel like cooking. I miss it when the gravy came in a separate package so that it didn't get mixed up with the potatoes, but it still tastes. good. I have noticed the chicken gets tough from heating in the microwave, so old school ovens are better if you have the patience. Wish MC would change up their selections. There are so many of their meals that just don't appeal to me, like sweet and sour chicken. I also like the salisbury steak meal.
