This is pretty, pretty, pretty sad news.
Curb Your Enthusiasm is officially coming to an end with Season 12 on HBO.
Every season creator and star Larry David says that he’s ending the show but this time it seems it’s real.
“As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character,” said David. “And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”
Season 12 will premiere on Sunday February 4 and the ten-part series will air its finale on April 7.

Cheryl Hines has over 75 movie and TV credits to her name, but only a few of those come before her Emmy-nominated role as Larry David's long-suffering wife, also named Cheryl, on "Curb Your Enthusiasm." As Turner Classic Movies notes, Hines was bartending at a hotel when she first auditioned for the L.A. improv comedy group The Groundlings. This would arm her with the improvisational skills she needed to keep up with David in "Curb Your Enthusiasm," but it was only by chance that she landed the role, and in another life, she might have had to settle for being a comedian's personal assistant rather than his scene partner.
While performing sketch comedy at a nightclub, Hines caught the eye of Robert B. Weide, the director and supervising producer of the one-hour HBO special, "Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm." This special would become the basis for the long-running series,...

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" may be one of television's longest-running sitcoms, but Larry David originally just intended the show's de facto pilot, an hour-long HBO special, as a joke about his return to stand-up comedy. Structured as a mockumentary, "Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm" followed a similar metanarrative as season 4 of "Seinfeld" (the one in which George tries to sell his concept of "a show about nothing" to NBC) and traced Larry's attempts at creating a — you guessed it — an hour-long special for HBO.
David himself wasn't too enthused about the idea of a documentary crew tracking his stand-up career, but the format inspired the look and feel of "Curb." It turns out the material that stuck wasn't actually Larry's stand-up career, but the fictionalized plot structured around the behind-the-scenes component. Rather than his stage performance, Larry's day-to-day life turned out to be what inspired "Curb Your Enthusiasm" as an entire television show.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is still going strong as Larry David reveals that the improvisational comedy series will return for a twelfth season.
The actor, who stars in the series derived as a follow up to the 1999 HBO comedy special Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm, revealed the news at an HBO Max-presented Directors Guild of America Emmys event hosted by Rich Eisen.
So, I was honored to emcee an @TheEmmys panel for “Curb Your Enthusiasm” tonight here in LA with most of the cast and asked Larry David the ultimate question:...

A two-part documentary about Larry David, titled “The Larry David Story,” will premiere on HBO Max on March 1.
The HBO original doc captures David’s rise to comedy stardom, from his start in standup to co-creating “Seinfeld” to leading 11 seasons of the ground-breaking “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
“Twenty-five years old, I didn’t know what I wanted to do,” David says in the trailer. “Well, what do you do when you’re talking and people are laughing? You do comedy.”
David continues: “I never thought of myself as being funny. Anything I was associated with that could be successful was a shock.”
Along with Jerry Seinfeld, David helped launch “Seinfeld” to becoming one of the most successful television shows of all time.
“My mother would call me up and go, ‘Larry, do they like you? Do they tell you you’re doing a great job?'” David says. “Yeah, Ma, they like me.

Richard Lewis made a surprise visit to the set of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” where he was able to shoot a scene for the upcoming season despite recent health issues. Lewis announced in January that he would not be returning for Season 11 of his old friend Larry David’s long-running cringe comedy, citing multiple shoulder and back surgeries. It was a big hit to fans, as Lewis has been a beloved presence in all 10 seasons since his semi-autobiographical character first appeared in the pilot.
“What a ride, Ld! I love you, buddy,” Lewis tweeted at the time. “Tragically, these past 18 months I’ve endured a back and two shoulder surgeries and not able to be in #curbyourenthusiasm for season 11. I’ll be watching…@HBO.”
He told Variety of the decision: “For 20 years, I had the greatest comedy gig I could have ever imagined with my oldest and dearest friend Ld.

Richard Lewis will not appear in Season 11 of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Variety has confirmed.
“For 20 years, I had the greatest comedy gig I could have ever imagined with my oldest and dearest friend Ld. Honestly, I’m crushed that I won’t be part of this season,” Lewis tells Variety. “For sure, I will be screaming with all the other ‘Curb’ fans when the new season starts. Hope to be there for Season 12!”
Lewis first shared the news on Twitter Monday alongside a photo of himself with series creator Larry David, writing that he has to take a break from his role on the show to recover from multiple surgeries.

You may not realize it, but 20 years ago, us mortals were delivered a gift from the higher powers of comedy. I’m referring to Larry David’s hilarious and groundbreaking program, “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” which premiered on HBO precisely two decades ago on October 15, 2000. To help celebrate the prettaaay, prettaaay good run that the show has had, we at Gold Derby are ranking the 20 best episodes of the Emmy-winning show for its 20th anniversary. Scroll through our photo gallery and see where your favorite episode is ranked.

The show centers on David, playing a somewhat fictionalized version of himself, and the often inane and neurotic interactions he has with with those that are closest to him. Among the people in this orbit are his much-more-grounded wife Cheryl (Cheryl Hines), his manager/best friend Jeff Greene (Jeff Garlin) and Jeff’s wife, Susie Greene (Susie Essman...

On Oct. 15, 2000 HBO’s landmark comedy series “Curb Your Enthusiasm” debuted, introducing the world to the idiosyncrasies of the genius comedic mind of “Seinfeld” co-creator Larry David. Over the series’ 10 seasons and 100 episodes, David has played a hilariously exaggerated version of himself, a proud “social assassin” who’s often on the outs with friends and strangers for his strong, brutally honest opinions about everyday life and the ridiculousness of society.
“Curb” quickly followed on the heels of David’s 1999 pseudo-documentary “Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm,” which chronicled his return to standup years after wrapping “Seinfeld.” In that special and on all 10 seasons of the show, David has been joined by Jeff Garlin as his manager Jeff Greene and Cheryl Hines as his wife Cheryl David, who earned an Emmy nomination for her role in 2006. Susie Essman and J.B. Smoove round out the cast as Jeff’s riotous spouse Susie and...

In honour of Larry David’s new film project we decided to go through all the various seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm (as if we really needed an excuse) to pick out Larry David’s greatest ever insults. This is a list of his personal insults to other people, not a list of insults because that’s too easy and would not have been as fun.
Without further ado here’s the top ten, mostly with videos if we could find them:
10. The Beginning
Before Larry David was a main feature on HBO he made a 60-minute special called Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm, which was a backdoor pilot for the entire show and had many of the elements of the series but not all of what we now know and love as Curb. So if you haven’t seen it you might want to check it out.
